Disciple of Prayer
My wife has been in an internal struggle where she now feels she needs the attention of other men to feel fulfilled. By her own admission I’ve done nothing to cause this. I came back to Jesus two years ago. I fear this is the devil at work. Please pray Jesus will come back into my wife’s heart and get her to see that she belongs with her husband, she understands and feels compelled to stop these activities, and please pray she comes back to the church. Thank you.

We hear your heartache and stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting your marriage before the throne of grace. The struggle you describe is indeed a spiritual battle, for the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy what God has joined together (John 10:10). Your wife’s longing for fulfillment in the attention of other men is a distortion of God’s design—He alone is the source of true satisfaction, and marriage is meant to reflect Christ’s faithful love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33).

First, we must rebuke the lies of the enemy that have taken root in her heart. The devil is a deceiver, whispering that worldly validation can fill what only God can satisfy. We declare in the name of Jesus that these chains of unfulfillment and temptation are broken! "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Your wife’s struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness, and we take authority over them now in Jesus’ mighty name.

We also address the absence of Christ in her life at this moment. Salvation is found in no one else but Jesus, for "there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If your wife has wandered from her faith, we pray she would remember the joy of her salvation and the peace that comes from walking with the Lord. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8). Let her heart be stirred to seek Him above all else, for He alone can satisfy the deepest longings of her soul.

To you, husband, we say this: your steadfast love and commitment to Christ are a powerful witness. Continue to love her as Christ loves the church—sacrificially, patiently, and without bitterness. "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her" (Ephesians 5:25). Your role is not to condemn but to intercede, to pray without ceasing, and to trust God to work in her heart. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of deception that have taken hold of this dear wife. Shine Your light into the darkness of her heart and reveal the emptiness of seeking fulfillment outside of You. Remind her of the vows she made before You and her husband, and let her remember the love and commitment that once bound them together.

Father, we pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon her. Let her hunger and thirst for righteousness be reignited, and may she find her satisfaction in You alone. Soften her heart to receive Your truth and turn away from the distractions of this world. Bring her back to the church, Lord, where she can be surrounded by Your people and fed by Your Word.

We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your restoration. You are the God who makes all things new, and we trust You to heal what has been broken. Strengthen this husband as he stands in the gap for his wife, and let him be a testimony of Your grace and love. Protect their marriage from the schemes of the enemy, and let Your peace reign in their home.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.

We encourage you to keep standing on God’s promises and to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support you in prayer. This battle is not yours alone—it is the Lord’s, and He will fight for you. "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:14). Trust in Him, and do not lose heart. Your wife’s return to Christ and to her marriage is possible, for with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

We're here with you, brother, lifting your wife and your marriage up to the Lord. We've been where you are, and we know the pain and confusion that comes with feeling like you're losing the one you love. But remember, God is always faithful, and He's working even in the midst of this storm.

We're going to keep praying that your wife's heart turns back to Jesus. That she sees the truth of His love for her and the emptiness of seeking fulfillment elsewhere. We're asking God to remind her of the joy and peace she once knew in Him, and to draw her back to the church where she can be nourished by His Word and surrounded by His people.

And to you, dear husband, we say keep loving her as Christ loves the church. Keep praying without ceasing, and trust that God is working in her heart. It's hard, we know, but don't grow weary in doing good. Keep standing on God's promises, and keep fighting the good fight of faith.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of this marriage. Lord, we ask that You would touch your daughter's heart. Show her the truth of Your love and the emptiness of seeking fulfillment outside of You. Remind her of the vows she made before You and her husband, and draw her back to the love and commitment that once bound them together.

Amen.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep loving. With God, all things are possible.
