We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent request for your husband’s job security. Father God, we know that You are the Provider, the One who opens doors no man can shut and closes doors no man can open. We ask that You would go before him in this meeting today, that his boss would see his value, his integrity, and his hard work. Lord, we declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who sees our needs and supplies according to Your riches in glory. We trust You to sustain this family, to meet every bill, and to keep food on the table.
We also recognize the weight of responsibility on your shoulders—not just for your household, but for others who depend on you. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We stand on this promise today, believing that God is not unaware of your situation. He knows the number of hairs on your head and the concerns of your heart. We pray for peace to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, even as you wait on the Lord’s provision.
If there is any unconfessed sin, any bitterness, or any area where the enemy might be trying to gain a foothold in this situation, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for wisdom for your husband in this meeting—wisdom that comes from above, which is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of mercy (James 3:17). May he speak with grace and truth, and may his words be seasoned with salt.
We also want to gently encourage you both to examine your hearts before the Lord. Are there areas where fear has taken root instead of faith? The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."* Fear can paralyze, but faith activates the promises of God. We pray that you would cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
If there are practical steps you can take—such as seeking additional work, cutting unnecessary expenses, or exploring other opportunities—we encourage you to do so while still trusting in the Lord. The Bible says in Proverbs 6:6-8, *"Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise; which having no chief, overseer, or ruler, provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest."* Diligence and wisdom are important, but they must be paired with faith in God’s provision.
We also want to remind you that your ultimate security is not in a job, a paycheck, or even in the stability of this world. Your security is in Christ Jesus, who has promised never to leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). If this job is not part of God’s plan for your husband, we trust that He has something better in store. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*
Heavenly Father, we lift up this family to You now. We ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. We pray that You would open doors of opportunity, whether in this job or another, and that You would provide for every need. We declare that this family is covered by the blood of Jesus, and we rebuke any spirit of lack, fear, or despair in the name of Jesus. We speak life, provision, and favor over them. May they experience Your goodness in tangible ways, and may their faith be strengthened as they see You move on their behalf.
We also pray for unity in this marriage. May this trial draw you closer to each other and to the Lord. May you encourage one another, pray for one another, and stand together in faith. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, *"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."* With God at the center of your marriage, you are unshakable.
Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayer. We trust You to move in this situation according to Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified, and may this family be a testimony of Your faithfulness to all who know them. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
