We hear your heartfelt cry for the protection of your marriage, and we join you in lifting this sacred covenant before the Lord. Marriage is a divine institution, ordained by God from the very beginning, as we see in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh." It is a reflection of Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25), and as such, it is worthy of our utmost care, prayer, and vigilance.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name by which we can approach Your throne of grace (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). We ask that You would surround this marriage with Your hedge of protection, shielding it from the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Lord, we rebuke every spirit of division, strife, infidelity, and ungodly influence that may be seeking to creep into this union. Your Word declares that what God has joined together, let no man—or spirit—separate (Matthew 19:6). We stand on this truth and declare that this marriage is under Your divine covering.
We pray for wisdom and discernment for both spouses, that they would walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). May they prioritize their relationship with You, Lord, above all else, for a marriage rooted in You is like a house built on the rock—unshaken by the storms of life (Matthew 7:24-25). Strengthen their communication, deepen their love, and fill their home with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
If there are any areas where this marriage has strayed from Your design—whether through unconfessed sin, neglect, or worldly influences—we ask that You bring conviction, repentance, and restoration. Your Word warns us that "a man who commits adultery lacks sense; whoever does it destroys his own soul" (Proverbs 6:32). If there has been any form of infidelity, emotional or physical, we pray for true repentance, forgiveness, and healing, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Lord, we also pray for godly accountability and fellowship for this couple. Surround them with believers who will encourage them in their walk with You and hold them up in prayer. Let them be a light to others, reflecting Your love and grace in their marriage. May their union bring glory to Your name and be a testament to Your faithfulness.
We declare that this marriage will thrive, not just survive. That it will be a place of refuge, love, and mutual submission, as Your Word instructs: "Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church... Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:22-25). May both husband and wife fulfill their God-given roles with humility, grace, and a servant’s heart.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bless this marriage with fruitfulness—whether that be in children, ministry, or the lives they touch. May their love for one another and for You continue to grow deeper with each passing day. We thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your promise that "the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective" (James 5:16). In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
