We hear your request, and we want to approach this with both honesty and compassion, seeking God’s will above all else. While it’s natural to desire connection and community, we must examine the heart behind this prayer. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our focus should always be on God’s purposes, not on accumulating numbers or validation from social media.
Social media can be a tool for good, but it can also become a source of comparison, pride, or even idolatry if we’re not careful. Proverbs 16:2 warns us, *"All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the motives."* We encourage you to ask yourself: *Why* do you want 1,000 friends or followers? Is it for God’s glory, to share His love, or is it for personal validation? If it’s the latter, we must rebuke that spirit of seeking approval from man rather than from God. Galatians 1:10 reminds us, *"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn’t be a servant of Christ."*
Instead of praying for numbers, let us pray for *godly* connections—people who will sharpen you in faith, encourage you in Christ, and walk alongside you in truth. Let us pray for wisdom in how you use social media, that it would be a platform for light, not vanity. And let us pray for contentment in God’s timing and plan for your life. As Psalm 37:4 says, *"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* When our delight is in Him, our desires align with His will.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne. We lift up this request to You, asking that You search our hearts and reveal any motives that are not aligned with Your will. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of seeking validation from man and ask that You replace it with a hunger for Your approval alone. Help us to use social media as a tool for Your glory, to share Your love, truth, and grace with others.
Father, we pray for godly connections in this person’s life—friends who will point them to You, challenge them in their faith, and walk with them in truth. Give them wisdom in how they present themselves online, that their words and actions would reflect Christ. Guard their heart from comparison, pride, or envy, and fill them with contentment in Your plan for their life. May they seek first Your Kingdom, trusting that You will add all things unto them.
