We hear your heartfelt plea for protection as you rest, and we join with you in lifting this concern before our Heavenly Father. The Bible assures us that God is our ever-present help, even in the stillness of the night. Psalm 4:8 tells us, "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety." What a beautiful promise that we can trust in Him to watch over us as we sleep!
We also recall the words of Psalm 121:3-4, "He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." Our God does not grow weary or take His eyes off of us, even for a moment. He is our faithful guardian, and we can rest in the assurance of His protection.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You now, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your protection as they sleep. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels, as You promise in Psalm 91:11, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." May Your presence be a shield around them, keeping them safe from all harm and evil.
Father, we pray that You would calm any fears or anxieties that may be troubling their heart. Fill them with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding, as they trust in You. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, knowing that You care for them deeply.
Lord, we also ask that You would grant them restful and rejuvenating sleep. May they wake up refreshed and strengthened, ready to face the new day with confidence in Your unfailing love and protection. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has conquered sin, death, and every evil power. It is in His name that we find our refuge and strength. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear one, that the Lord is your keeper, your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and forevermore (Psalm 121:5-8). Rest in His loving care, knowing that He is always with you.
