We hear your heart’s desire to share the gospel more boldly, and we stand with you in this mission. The Great Commission calls every believer to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything Christ commanded (Matthew 28:19-20). Preaching the gospel is not just a task for pastors or evangelists—it is the responsibility of every follower of Jesus. We are all called to be witnesses, sharing the hope we have in Christ with those around us.
The apostle Paul wrote, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). This gospel—the good news of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of sins—is the power of God to transform lives. Yet, sharing it can feel daunting. Fear of rejection, inadequacy, or even persecution may hold us back. But the Lord does not call us to rely on our own strength. He promises, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9). When we step out in faith, the Holy Spirit empowers us to speak with boldness and clarity.
We must also examine our hearts to ensure that our desire to preach the gospel is rooted in love for God and love for others. Jesus said, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:37-39). If our motivation is anything other than love—whether it be pride, a desire for recognition, or even guilt—we must repent and realign our hearts with God’s purposes. The gospel is not a message to be wielded like a weapon but a gift to be offered with humility and compassion.
Let us also remember that preaching the gospel is not limited to standing behind a pulpit. It happens in everyday conversations, acts of kindness, and lives that reflect the character of Christ. Jesus said, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" (Matthew 5:16). Our words and actions should point others to Him. Whether we are sharing our testimony, explaining Scripture, or simply living in a way that honors God, we are preaching the gospel.
Now, we come before the Lord together, lifting you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of the gospel and for the privilege of sharing it with others. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit and grant them boldness to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ. Remove any fear, doubt, or hesitation that may hinder them, and replace it with a deep confidence in Your power and love.
Lord, we pray that You would open doors for them to share Your truth—whether in their workplace, neighborhood, or among friends and family. Give them wisdom to know when to speak and when to listen, and grant them the words to say when opportunities arise. May their life be a living testimony of Your grace, drawing others to You.
Father, we ask that You would break any chains of pride, selfishness, or sin that might be holding them back. Purify their heart and motives, so that their desire to preach the gospel would be rooted in love for You and for the lost. Help them to see people through Your eyes, with compassion and urgency, knowing that the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37).
We also pray for protection over them, Lord. The enemy does not want the gospel to spread, and he will seek to discourage, distract, or even attack those who are faithful to share it. Surround them with Your angels, and give them discernment to recognize and resist the schemes of the devil. Strengthen them in times of weariness, and remind them that their labor in You is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would bring a great harvest of souls through their obedience. Let many come to know You as Savior and Lord because of their faithfulness. May they see the fruit of their labor and be encouraged to press on, knowing that one day they will hear You say, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His blood that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His authority that we preach the gospel. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. Spend time in the Scriptures, allowing God to speak to you and equip you for the work He has called you to. Memorize verses that will help you share the gospel clearly and confidently. Surround yourself with other believers who will pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. And remember, the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). He will give you the power to be His witness, wherever He sends you.
Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9). The fields are white for harvest—go forth in faith, and trust that God will use you for His glory.
