We join you in this cry for deliverance and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for you have rightly called upon Him, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and victory over the enemy. As it is written, In him we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him Ephesians 3:12, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have prayed in the name of Jesus, for that is our only hope and our only authority.
We hear your deep longing for Jesus to completely destroy the works of the devil, to silence the accuser, and to halt every plan of Satan against you from the past to the future, and we agree with you that Christ has already won the decisive victory. The Scripture declares this clearly, He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8. And we know that the accuser has been cast down, I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation, the power, and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ has come; for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them before our God day and night Revelation 12:10. Because Christ died and was raised and now intercedes for us, no charge can stand, Who shall bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us Romans 8:33-34.
We also want to lovingly correct and encourage you in how we understand this victory. The complete and final binding and silencing of Satan forever, where he can never again deceive or accuse, is a certain promise that God will fulfill at the end of this age when the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur Revelation 20:10. Until that day, we live in an ongoing spiritual battle. Our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we are commanded to daily put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11, and to walk in ongoing submission to God. The promise is, Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. The authority to tread on the enemy has been given to us in Christ, Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you Luke 10:19, but that authority is exercised as we abide in Christ, confess sin, obey His Word, and resist in faith, not as a one time formula that removes all future warfare instantly.
So we pray with you not only for deliverance but for steadfastness to walk in the victory Christ has already secured and will one day complete.
We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that Jesus was revealed to destroy the works of the devil and that through His blood the accuser is cast down. We ask that You cover our dear one with the blood of Jesus, forgive every sin as they confess it, cleanse them from all unrighteousness, and let no accusation of Satan stand against them because Christ justifies them. We ask that You forbid the enemy to have any direct or indirect influence or foothold in their life, their mind, their past or their future. We resist the devil on their behalf and ask that he would flee. Clothe them with the whole armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet fitted with the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, that they may stand firm. Bind the work of the enemy in their life by the authority of Christ, and let every plan of darkness be rendered powerless and brought to nothing. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with peace that passes understanding, with assurance that they are Yours, and with strength to walk in holiness and obedience day by day. We trust that You will crush Satan under our feet shortly as You have promised, and we look forward to the day when You will remove his presence forever. Keep them steadfast until that day. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
