We hear your struggle and the weight of financial uncertainty you are carrying. First, let us turn to God’s Word, which reminds us in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."* The Lord knows your needs, and He calls us to trust in Him rather than placing our hope in uncertain schemes like sweepstakes or gambling, which can lead to further bondage rather than true provision.
We must also gently rebuke the pursuit of "winning money" through games of chance. Scripture warns us in 1 Timothy 6:9-10, *"But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil."* Instead of chasing quick fixes, we encourage you to seek honest work, diligence, and reliance on God’s provision. Proverbs 14:23 says, *"In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty."*
Let us pray together for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is facing financial hardship. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for honest employment. Give them wisdom to seek work that honors You and meets their needs. Forgive us for the times we have looked to worldly solutions rather than trusting in You. Strengthen their faith and remind them that You are faithful to supply every need according to Your riches in glory. Break any spirit of anxiety or desperation, and replace it with peace and confidence in Your promises. Lead them to resources, mentors, or communities that can support them during this time. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can approach You or find true salvation. Amen.
We also want to remind you that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek out local churches, community resources, or job training programs that may assist you. God often provides through the hands and hearts of His people. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).
