We lift up your dear friend in this time of profound sorrow, knowing that while her sister has been called home to be with our Lord, the pain of loss is deep and real. The Scriptures remind us that even in grief, we do not sorrow as those who have no hope, for we know that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8, WEB). Yet, the ache of separation remains, and we ask our Heavenly Father to wrap your friend in His peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray that the Holy Spirit would be her Comforter, as Jesus promised, bringing to her remembrance the hope of eternal life and the assurance that death has been swallowed up in victory (John 14:26, 1 Corinthians 15:54). May she feel the presence of the Lord in a tangible way through the love and support of fellow believers, and may she find strength in the promise that one day, there will be no more death, sorrow, or pain (Revelation 21:4).
We also encourage your friend to pour out her heart to God, who is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let her cling to the truth that her sister is now in the presence of the Savior, worshipping Him face to face, and that this separation is only temporary. May she find solace in the words of Jesus: "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die" (John 11:25-26).
Father, we ask that You would surround your daughter with Your love and mercy. Provide for her needs, both spiritually and physically, as she navigates this valley. Raise up brothers and sisters in Christ to come alongside her, to weep with her, and to remind her of Your faithfulness. Let her grief be met with the hope of the gospel, and let her life continue to reflect the light of Christ, even in this darkness.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who conquered death and gives us eternal life. Amen.
