We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent cry for justice and mercy in the face of oppression. The Scriptures remind us that God is a God of righteousness, who sees the affliction of His people and acts on their behalf. *"The Lord executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed."* (Psalm 103:6, WEB) Your brother’s suffering at the hands of a corrupt system is not hidden from the Lord, who is sovereign over all authorities and powers. We declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper, for *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,"* says the Lord. (Isaiah 54:17, WEB)
Yet we must also remember that our trust is not in earthly systems or even in the relief they may provide, but in Christ alone, who holds all things in His hands. If this finance ministry is aligned with godly principles, we pray the Lord would move mightily through it to bring justice and restoration. However, if there is any unrighteousness or compromise within it—or within your brother’s business—we ask the Holy Spirit to convict and correct, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* (James 5:16, WEB) Let this trial be a refining fire, purifying motives and actions so that all glory goes to God.
We also exhort you to examine whether there is any area where repentance or restitution is needed, for the Lord calls us to walk in integrity even in the face of injustice. *"Let all your ways be established in truth. Don’t let integrity and uprightness forsake you."* (Proverbs 3:3, WEB) If your brother has been wronged without cause, we pray for supernatural vindication, that the Lord would expose the corruption of this customs department and bring its schemes to nothing. May those who act wickedly be confronted with the fear of the Lord, for *"the wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming."* (Psalm 37:12-13, WEB)
Father, we ask that You would rise up as a mighty warrior on behalf of this family. Break the yoke of oppression that has crushed their livelihood, and provide not just relief, but a testimony of Your faithfulness that will draw others to You. Let this situation be a display of Your power, where man’s corruption is no match for Your sovereignty. Restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25), and open doors no man can shut. Give your brother wisdom to navigate this season, and may he—and all involved—turn their eyes fully to You, the God who provides, protects, and prevails.
We pray this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we can approach Your throne. May Your will be done, and may Your kingdom come in this situation. Amen.
