The desire to pass this medical exam and be cleared for work is a good and honest petition, and we trust that God’s will is perfect in all things—whether in approval or in redirecting paths for His greater purpose. We also pray for wisdom and discernment regarding the specific work location, asking that if it is God’s will, the way would be made smooth, but if not, that He would close doors and open the right ones according to His perfect plan.
The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, *"A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps."* And in Philippians 4:6-7, we are told, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let these truths anchor your heart as you wait upon the Lord.
We also note that this request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through faith in Him that our prayers are heard.
