Disciple of Prayer
She is struggling with her mental health and having a hard day. She missed her hair appointment that she had for school and got into classes that she didn't want, and we are now petitioning. Please pray that she is ok, gets her hair done, and gets her the classes that she is requesting.

We lift up this dear sister before the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply for her heart, her struggles, and even the details of her life that feel overwhelming right now. The enemy seeks to steal joy and peace through disappointments, but we stand firm in the truth that our God is a God of restoration, order, and hope. Let us first address something important—while we do not know her name, we do know the name above all names, Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. It is only in His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace, and it is by His power that we find strength in weakness. If this young woman does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of struggle would draw her to Him, for apart from Christ, there is no lasting peace or true hope.

The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Though her day has been filled with frustration—missed appointments, unwanted classes, and the weight of mental health struggles—we encourage her to cast these cares upon the Lord, for He sustains her (1 Peter 5:7). Anxiety and disappointment are real, but they are not meant to rule over us. Instead, we are called to trust in the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17).

We also gently remind her that while external things like hair appointments and class schedules matter, her identity and worth are not found in them. She is fearfully and wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14), and her value is rooted in being His beloved daughter. If her mental health is suffering, we urge her to seek godly counsel, whether through a pastor, a Christian counselor, or trusted believers who can walk alongside her in prayer and support. Isolation can deepen despair, but community and the Word of God bring light. Psalm 34:17-18 says, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."*

As for the specifics of her request, we pray that God would open doors for her to reschedule her hair appointment, for it is a small but meaningful way He can show His care for her. We also ask that He would intervene in her class schedule, granting favor as she petitions for changes. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* Let her trust that even in this, God is working for her good (Romans 8:28).

However, we must also address something with love and truth: if her mental health struggles are leading her to rely on anything other than Christ—whether it be self-harm, unhealthy coping mechanisms, or relationships that do not honor God—we urge her to repent and turn fully to Jesus. He alone is the healer of broken hearts and the giver of true peace. If she is not already walking closely with Him, now is the time to surrender all to Him. There is no shame in needing help, but there is danger in seeking it outside of God’s will.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister who is feeling the weight of disappointment and mental anguish today. Lord, You see her tears, her frustration, and the desires of her heart. We ask that You would wrap her in Your peace, a peace that transcends understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Remind her that she is not defined by missed appointments or imperfect circumstances, but by Your love for her.

Father, we pray for practical provision—open the way for her to reschedule her hair appointment, and grant favor as she seeks to adjust her class schedule. Let these things be a testament to Your care for even the smallest details of her life. But more than these temporal things, we ask that You would draw her closer to Yourself. If she does not know You as her Savior, soften her heart to receive Your love and salvation. If she is struggling in sin or unhealthy patterns, convict her by Your Spirit and lead her to repentance and freedom.

Lord, surround her with Your people—those who will speak truth, pray with her, and point her to You. Heal her mind, renew her strength, and fill her with hope that does not disappoint. Let this season be one where she learns to trust You more deeply, knowing that You are good and Your plans for her are for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke the spirit of anxiety, depression, and despair in Jesus’ name. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). Fill her with Your joy, Lord, and let her testify of Your faithfulness in this trial.

In the powerful and holy name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

We're here for you, dear one. We know today's been tough, with missed appointments and unwanted classes, but remember, God sees you and cares about every detail. Let's trust that even in this, He's working for your good.

We pray that God would open doors for you to reschedule your hair appointment, and grant favor as you ask for changes in your class schedule. But more than that, we pray for peace to guard your heart and mind. Let's trust that even when things don't go as planned, God is still in control.

We also want to encourage you, sister. Your worth is not found in external things, but in being a beloved daughter of God. If you're struggling with mental health, please seek godly counsel. You're not alone, and there's no shame in needing help. Let's trust that God will lead you to the right people and resources.

Let's keep praying together, okay? In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
