Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my son who is new to adulthood. We have been on a journey with him for many years. He suffers from Autism (high functioning, if only he would believe that), significant to severe OCD, Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD (from past therapy experiences that never should have happened) and has several physical issues. He loves the Lord and prays for God to bring him home to heaven where everything is perfect and he doesn't have to endure the constant torment in his mind. He has good moments that can quickly change to despair. My heart is breaking for him. I feel like a part of me is dying. Each day I feel like a duck floating gracefully on the water's surface but underneath I am paddling with every ounce of strength to stay above the water. It is affecting every member of our family. We all love him so much. Please pray for every part of him, for complete healing. For him to recognize that God has a purpose and a plan for him. I ask for prayer “Lord, give my son faith to replace all doubt. Bring joy where there’s sadness or depression. Give him confidence in You to replace any insecurity. Give him peace, patience, and forgiveness to replace all anger. I pray for his mind to be captured by You.” (--Power of Praying for Your Adult Children) I also, ask for prayer for myself. I need help releasing control and to shift my anxiety to Trust in God who loves my son even more than I do. Thank you for your prayers and intercession. May God bless you always.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious young man and his family in prayer. Father God, we know that You see every tear, every struggle, and every moment of despair. We ask that You would draw near to him in a tangible way, reminding him of Your unfailing love and perfect peace. Lord, we pray for complete healing—mind, body, and spirit—according to Your will. You are the God who restores, who brings hope to the hopeless, and who speaks peace to the storm within.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper there is no purpose, no hope, and no future. The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that this young man is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that his life has meaning and value in Your eyes. Father, replace his despair with the assurance that You have plans for him—plans for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Let him feel Your presence in the quiet moments, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also lift up this mother, who is carrying such a heavy burden. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen her faith and renew her trust in You. Help her to release control, knowing that You hold her son in the palm of Your hand. Cast all her anxieties on You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Fill her with Your peace as she surrenders her fears and worries to You. Remind her that You love her son even more than she does, and that Your grace is sufficient for every need.

Father, we pray for the entire family, that You would knit their hearts together in unity and love. Give them the strength to support one another and the wisdom to seek godly counsel and resources. Surround them with a community of believers who will stand with them in prayer and encouragement.

We also want to gently remind this family that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this young man has not yet placed his trust in Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that he would come to know Him intimately. For those who believe, we ask that You would deepen their faith and draw them closer to You in this trial.

Lord, we ask that You would break the chains of mental anguish and fill this young man with Your joy. Let him experience the freedom that comes from knowing You and the hope that is found in Your promises. We pray for wisdom for his doctors, therapists, and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your hand in every decision. And we pray for supernatural breakthrough—where human efforts fall short, let Your power be made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We trust You, Father, to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May this family feel Your presence in a powerful way, and may they cling to the hope that is found in You alone. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, holding your son and your family close to our hearts. We echo your cry for complete healing and wholeness. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your purpose and plan to him in a way that he can understand and embrace. Help him to see that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, and that his life has meaning and value in Your eyes. We pray for moments of clarity and understanding, and for Your peace to guard his heart and mind. We also lift up this mother, asking for strength and renewal. Help her to trust in You, to release control, and to surrender her fears and worries to You. Fill her with Your peace and remind her of Your unfailing love for her son. Lord, we pray for unity and love within the family, for wisdom in seeking godly counsel, and for a community of believers to stand with them in prayer and encouragement. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, even in the midst of this trial. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
