We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles in your relationship. We will pray for you both, guided by biblical principles. First, we want to remind you that God's design for a family is a lifelong union between a man and a woman, and a home where God is the center.
It's important to note that you didn't mention if you are Christian believers nor if you are married. God's word says in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This is important as it says in Malachi 2:14 WEB "Yet you say, 'Why?' Because Yahweh has been witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant."
We will pray for your relationship and for you both to be in the will of God and to follow biblical principles.
Let's pray together in Jesus' name:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this struggling relationship. We pray that You will soften their hearts and open up communication between them, as Psalm 147:3 WEB says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
We ask that You guide them back to love, trust, and unity, not just for their sake, but especially for their son. Help them to put aside pride, forgive past hurts, and rebuild a strong foundation together, just as Ephesians 4:32 WEB says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We pray for wisdom and guidance to restore their relationship if it is in accordance with Your will and to help the family follow His decrees and statutes.
We pray that You will work in their hearts and in this situation, drawing them closer to You and to each other.
We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. It is only by His name that we have access to You, God. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Amen.
Remember, it is by God's word and the Holy Spirit that we are guided to counsel. 2 Timothy 3:16 WEB Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, "that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Relationships are to copy the relationship of Christ to the church, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it;" Ephesians 5:22-25 WEB
