We hear the longing in your heart and stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your request to our Heavenly Father. The Scriptures remind us in Psalm 37:4, *"Delight yourself also in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* This promise is not a guarantee that God will give us whatever we want, but rather that as we seek Him first and align our desires with His will, He shapes our hearts to long for what is good, pure, and in accordance with His purposes.
It is beautiful that you describe this desire as one of love, but we must also examine our hearts honestly before the Lord. James 4:3 warns, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Even desires that feel noble can become idols if they consume us more than our love for God. We encourage you to surrender this longing fully to Him, trusting that His timing and His plans are perfect, even when they differ from our own. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
We also want to gently remind you that true access to God comes only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and salvation is found in no one else (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your forgiveness, and commit your life to following Him. Only then can you approach God with confidence, knowing that Jesus has made a way for you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up this dear one who has waited so long for Your answer. Lord, You know the deepest longings of their heart, and we ask that You would either fulfill this desire according to Your perfect will or replace it with a peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your timing, knowing that You are good and that Your plans are for their welfare and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11). Guard their heart from idolatry, and let their greatest joy be found in You alone.
Father, if this desire is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You would uproot it and plant in its place a contentment in You. Teach them to wait patiently, to hope fully, and to rest in the knowledge that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). If this miracle is part of Your plan, we ask that You would bring it to pass in Your perfect timing, for Your glory.
We also pray for their relationship with You, Lord. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself. Let them experience the depth of Your love and the power of Your salvation. May they find their identity, purpose, and satisfaction in You alone.
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Hold fast to hope, dear one. God hears your prayers, and He is at work even when you cannot see it. Continue to seek Him above all else, and trust that He will fulfill His promises in your life. If this desire is truly of Him, it will come to pass. If not, He has something even better in store. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
