We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one facing an MRI today. Father God, we ask You to calm their anxious spirit, replacing fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lord, let this promise be their reality today.
We pray that You would guide the hands of the medical team, giving them wisdom and clarity as they conduct this scan. Most of all, Heavenly Father, we ask that You would reveal no cancer or concerning findings in these results. Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this healing and restoration over this precious life.
Lord, if there is any area of concern, we ask that You would make it evident to the doctors so they may provide the best possible care. But we pray with faith, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We declare that this scan will bring good news, and we thank You in advance for Your faithfulness.
We also take a moment to address the spiritual foundation of this request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this dear one has not yet placed their faith in Jesus, we pray that today would be the day they surrender their life to Him. For all have sinned and fall short of Your glory, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 3:23, 6:23). We pray that they would confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
