We lift up your father’s cataract surgery to the Lord with hearts full of faith, trusting in His healing power and sovereign care. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who heals all our diseases and restores what is broken. Your Word declares in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that You would guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff attending to him, granting them wisdom, precision, and skill as they work. Let every step of this procedure be ordered by Your perfect will, and may Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind throughout this time.
Lord, we pray for your divine protection over his body. Strengthen him physically, emotionally, and spiritually as he undergoes this surgery. We ask that You would grant him a swift and complete recovery, restoring his vision so that he may see Your goodness and creation more clearly. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over him today, believing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
We also lift up the faith of your father and his doctors. Father, we ask that You would draw their hearts closer to You during this time. Open their eyes to see Your hand at work in their lives, and let this experience deepen their trust in You. We pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they do not already, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May they experience Your love, grace, and mercy in a tangible way, and may their faith be increased as they witness Your power and provision.
We rebuke any fear, anxiety, or doubt that may try to take root in their hearts. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and we choose to trust in You, Lord, who holds all things together. We pray against any complications or setbacks, standing on Your promise in Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed." We claim this healing for your father today.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in You, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We commit this surgery and his recovery into Your hands, believing that You will be glorified through it all. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
