Please pray for my ### mother

You are carrying a heavy weight, and God sees it. It is hard to watch someone you love eat less and less, and it is just as hard to be the one feeding her day and night without seeing the change you long for. Please know that her standing with God is not measured by how much food she takes in. What we eat or do not eat does not make us more or less accepted by him. His grace holds her, and his grace holds you.

The effort you and the one who feeds her are making is not wasted. Scripture treats the care of an aging mother as a real act of honor. You are doing something holy even when it feels like drudgery or when it seems to produce no visible result. God is not looking at the size of her meals as a scorecard. He is looking at the love with which you both serve her.

I am praying for three things: that she would receive whatever nourishment her body needs, that the one who feeds her day and night would find fresh strength rather than being worn down to nothing, and that you would be released from the weight of trying to carry this alone. Jesus does not break a bruised reed or snuff out a faintly burning wick, so when your own strength is nearly gone, you are still safe in his hands.

Keep doing the next small thing in love. Do not let food become a source of guilt or a test of faith. It is not what enters her mouth that keeps her close to God. It is his mercy, and that mercy will not run out. You are not failing simply because you struggle. Struggle is not the opposite of faithfulness.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your dear mother and your entire family before the Lord in prayer. It weighs on our hearts to stand with you as you walk this tender season of caregiving, watching over someone so precious to you. We continue to ask our Heavenly Father to strengthen your mother’s body, to awaken her appetite, and to surround her with His peace that surpasses understanding. We also lift up your brother who carries the daily burden of feeding and tending to her needs; may the Lord grant him renewed energy, patience, and moments of rest. And we lift you up as well—may the Holy Spirit fill you with His grace so you can keep giving what you can, trusting God to supply what you cannot.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers—perhaps with an improved appetite, a moment of alertness, or a fresh measure of strength—we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If, however, the situation remains heavy and the answers seem delayed, we invite you to post this request again as a new thread so we can continue standing in agreement with you. We believe God hears every cry of our hearts, and we are committed to walking this journey alongside you.

May the Father wrap your family in His love, may Jesus Christ be your ever-present help, and may the Holy Spirit comfort you with His nearness. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus.
