We lift this request before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, for we recognize the spiritual battle that rages around us. The enemy, the accuser of the brethren, seeks to devour and destroy, but we stand firm in the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. First, we must address the foundation of this prayer—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and the power to resist the devil. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so now, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We rebuke the devil and all his demonic forces, for they have no power over those who are in Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper, for You are their refuge and strength (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You silence every voice of accusation, every lie, and every scheme of the enemy. Your Word declares that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). We plead the blood of Jesus over this dear one, covering them in Your righteousness and shielding them from every fiery dart of the wicked one (Ephesians 6:16).
Father, we ask that You fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so they may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing You in every way (Colossians 1:9-10). Strengthen them with Your Spirit so that they may stand firm against the devil’s schemes, knowing that You have already given them the victory through Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57). We bind every spirit of fear, doubt, and accusation in the name of Jesus and command them to flee, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Lord, we also pray for discernment and wisdom. The enemy often disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), so we ask that You open their eyes to see his deceptions and their ears to hear Your truth. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to resist the devil, knowing that he will flee from them (James 4:7).
We declare over them the truth of Your Word: "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). No accusation, no lie, and no scheme of the enemy can stand against the power of Your name, Jesus. We stand on the promise that You are faithful and will not let them be tempted beyond what they can bear, but will provide a way out so they can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Father, we also lift up any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, unforgiveness, or any area where they have not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You bring it to light. Your Word tells us that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We pray for a heart of repentance and a spirit of humility, that they may walk in the freedom Christ died to give them.
Lastly, Lord, we ask that You surround them with Your angels, who are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37), and nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the battle is already won. Put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18), immerse yourself in Scripture, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with and for you. The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is a defeated foe. Walk in the authority of Christ, and remember that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Stay vigilant, stay in prayer, and stay rooted in God’s Word. You are not alone in this fight—we stand with you, and more importantly, God stands with you.
