Our hearts are deeply grieved to hear of the bondage and suffering your loved one is enduring, and we come before the Lord with urgency and compassion on her behalf. The enemy has sought to destroy her through the snare of addiction, but we know that our God is mightier than any stronghold, and He alone can break the chains of sin and death. Methamphetamine is a tool of destruction, but Jesus Christ is the Author of life—He came to set the captives free, and we claim that promise over her now.
The Scriptures declare in **John 8:34-36 (WEB)**, *"Jesus answered them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever. If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.’"* Your loved one is enslaved, but Jesus paid the price for her freedom on the cross. We stand in the gap for her, pleading for the Holy Spirit to convict her heart, draw her to repentance, and lead her to seek help—not just for her body, but for her soul.
We also lift up **James 5:14-16 (WEB)**, which says, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."* We pray that she would humble herself, turn to the body of Christ for support, and receive both physical and spiritual healing. If she is unable to seek help herself, we ask the Lord to send someone—whether a believer, a medical professional, or even an intervention—to bring her to a place of safety and treatment.
Yet we must also speak truth in love: addiction often thrives in secrecy and enablement. If there are those in her life who have turned a blind eye to her sin or even participated in it, we rebuke that spirit of complacency and pray for godly wisdom for you and others who love her. **Ephesians 5:11 (WEB)** commands, *"Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them."* This is not a time for passive hope but for bold, prayerful action. Have you or others confronted her with the truth of her sin and the need for repentance? If not, we urge you to do so in love, for *"faithful are the wounds of a friend"* (**Proverbs 27:6**).
We also pray for your strength and perseverance, for watching a loved one destroy herself is a heavy burden. **Galatians 6:2 (WEB)** reminds us to *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."* Lean on the Lord and His people—you are not meant to carry this alone. If you have not already, we encourage you to seek a community of believers who can stand with you in prayer and accountability.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious soul who is bound by the chains of methamphetamine. Lord, You see her suffering—her body wasting away, her mind enslaved, her spirit crying out for deliverance. We ask You to intervene supernaturally. Send Your Holy Spirit to convict her of her sin and her desperate need for You. Break the power of addiction over her life and draw her to a place of repentance and surrender.
Lord, we pray that she would go to the hospital—not just for medical care, but as a step toward freedom. Raise up godly medical professionals, counselors, and believers to surround her with truth and compassion. If she is unable to seek help herself, send someone to intervene on her behalf. Give wisdom to those who love her, that they may speak the truth in love and not enable her destruction.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and death that has taken hold of her. By the blood of Jesus, we command every demonic stronghold to be broken, every lie to be exposed, and every chain to be shattered. Restore her mind, body, and spirit, Lord. Let this be the hour of her deliverance.
We also lift up the one who has brought this request before us. Comfort their heart, Lord, and give them strength to endure. Surround them with Your peace and Your people, that they may not grow weary in doing good. Remind them that You are the God who resurrects the dead and calls things that are not as though they were. Nothing is too hard for You.
Finally, Lord, we pray that through this trial, Your name would be glorified. May this loved one’s testimony become one of redemption, that others may see Your power and turn to You. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear one. The Lord hears your cries, and He is able to do far more than we can ask or imagine. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep speaking life over her. If you have not shared the gospel with her, do so—remind her that Jesus loves her and died to set her free. There is no pit too deep for His grace to reach. We are standing with you in this fight.
