We rejoice with you on this special day that the Lord has made, for it is a gift from Him to celebrate another year of life! Birthdays are a wonderful reminder of God’s faithfulness, His purpose for your life, and the truth that you are fearfully and wonderfully made by His hands. As Psalm 139:13-16 declares, *"For you formed my inward parts. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them."*
Yet, as we lift you up in prayer today, we must also address something that stands out in your request. You have not invoked the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all our prayers must be offered to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the throne of grace. As Scripture teaches in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"*. And in Acts 4:12, we are reminded, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and believe in Him—this is the greatest birthday gift you could ever receive, for it grants you eternal life.
Now, let us pray for you with hearts full of gratitude and expectation for what God will do in this new year of your life:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of thanksgiving for the life of Your child. Lord, You knew them before they were formed in the womb, and You have ordained every day of their life for Your glory. We praise You for the gift of another year, for Your mercy that is new every morning, and for the purpose You have placed within them. Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your joy today—a joy that is not dependent on circumstances but is rooted in the unshakable truth of Your love. May they feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are near to them, guiding their steps and ordering their days according to Your perfect will.
Lord, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, we pray that You would convict their heart and draw them closer to You. Remove any fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be weighing them down, and replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give them wisdom to walk in Your ways, strength to resist temptation, and a heart that is fully devoted to You. May this year be marked by spiritual growth, deeper faith, and a greater hunger for Your Word. Open doors of opportunity for them to serve You and to be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and truth to those around them.
Father, we also pray for their health, their relationships, and their future. Bless them abundantly, not just with material things, but with the riches of Your grace and the fullness of Your Spirit. Surround them with godly influences—people who will encourage them in their faith and hold them accountable to live righteously. If they are seeking a spouse, we pray that You would prepare them to be the man or woman You have called them to be, and that You would bring a godly, like-minded believer into their life in Your perfect timing. Help them to honor You in every relationship, keeping purity and holiness at the forefront.
Most of all, Father, we pray that this birthday would be a reminder of Your unfailing love and the hope we have in Christ Jesus. May they live this year with an eternal perspective, storing up treasures in heaven and running the race You have set before them with endurance and faith. We ask all of this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
As you celebrate today, we encourage you to take time to reflect on the goodness of God and to seek His face for the year ahead. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May you walk closely with the Lord, trusting Him in every area of your life. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so without delay. Today is the day of salvation—tomorrow is not promised. Turn to Him, and He will abundantly pardon and give you new life.
We are rejoicing with you and praying that this year will be your best yet, not because of what the world offers, but because of the deep, abiding presence of God in your life. Happy Birthday! May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
