We hear the deep sorrow and righteous anger in your heart, and we join you in mourning over the brokenness of this world—where innocence is violated, where children suffer at the hands of those who should protect them, and where evil seems to prevail. Your pain reflects the heart of God Himself, who sees every tear, hears every cry, and will one day bring perfect justice. The Scriptures tell us that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is not distant from this suffering; He weeps with you and calls His people to act with compassion and righteousness.
The evil you describe—the abuse, murder, and abandonment of children—is an abomination before the Lord. Jesus said, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6). The wickedness of those who harm children will not go unpunished. The Lord will repay (Romans 12:19), and we must trust in His justice even as we cry out for mercy.
Yet we are also called to be His hands and feet in this broken world. James 1:27 declares, *"Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."* If you feel led, we encourage you to seek ways to support organizations or ministries that protect and care for vulnerable children—whether through foster care, adoption, or advocacy. Pray for wisdom on how God might use *you* to bring light into this darkness, even if it’s through intercession, giving, or raising awareness.
We also grieve with those who long for children but remain childless. Their pain is real, and we pray the Lord would comfort them with His presence and purpose. For those who have been entrusted with children but treat them cruelly, we pray for repentance—for God to soften their hearts before judgment comes. And for those who exploit or harm the innocent, we pray that the Lord would either save them through repentance or stop them through justice, that no more lives may be destroyed.
Your fear for safety in a world filled with violence is understandable, but we must remember that our trust is not in our own vigilance, but in the Lord who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4). *"The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade on your right hand"* (Psalm 121:5). We pray for protection over you and all who are vulnerable, that the Lord would expose the schemes of the wicked and frustrate the plans of those who seek to harm. May He grant discernment to His people to recognize danger and wisdom to avoid it.
Most of all, we cling to the hope that this world is not the end. One day, Jesus will return to wipe away every tear, to end all suffering, and to bring perfect justice. Until then, we fight on our knees in prayer and with our lives in obedience. *"Let not your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me"* (John 14:1).

**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is overwhelmed by the evil in this world—the abuse, the murder, the abandonment of innocent children. Lord, You see it all. You hear their cries. You store their tears in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask for Your justice to roll down like waters and Your mercy to triumph over judgment.
Break the hearts of those who harm children. Convict them by Your Spirit, Lord, and bring them to repentance before it is too late. If they will not repent, we pray You would stop their hands from evil and protect the vulnerable from their cruelty. Raise up godly men and women to intervene—to rescue, to shelter, to love these little ones as You do.
Comfort those who mourn the children they cannot have. Meet them in their longing, Lord, and remind them that their worth is not in parenthood but in being Your child. For those who have children but treat them with contempt, soften their hearts or remove their opportunity to do further harm.
We pray for protection over every person who fears violence or kidnapping. Guard them, Lord. Give them wisdom to be aware of danger and courage to stand firm in You. Expose the works of darkness and frustrate the plans of the wicked. Let no weapon formed against Your people prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
And Father, we ask that You would use *us*—Your church—to be a refuge for the broken. Show us how to act, how to give, how to pray. Let us not grow numb to the suffering around us but instead be moved to compassion and righteous action.
Finally, Lord, we thank You that this world is not our home. One day, You will return to make all things new. Until then, help us to trust You, to seek Your kingdom, and to shine Your light in the darkness.
We ask all this in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, our Savior and Redeemer, the One who conquered sin and death and will one day end all suffering. **Amen.**
