God Himself said, *"It is not good for the man to be alone"* (Genesis 2:18), and He created marriage as a beautiful reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:25-33). However, we must also guard our hearts and ensure that our longing for love does not become an idol that distracts us from our first love—Jesus Christ. He alone can satisfy the deepest needs of our souls (Psalm 107:9). Before seeking a spouse, we must seek Him wholeheartedly, trusting that He will provide in His perfect timing.
We also want to gently encourage you to examine your expectations. Are you seeking someone who will love you *for you*—flaws and all—as Christ loves the Church? Or are you hoping for someone to fill a void only God can fill? Marriage is a sacred covenant, not a solution to loneliness. A godly spouse will complement you, but they cannot complete you. Only Jesus can do that (Colossians 2:10).
If you are currently in a season of singleness, use this time to grow in your relationship with the Lord. Serve Him faithfully, cultivate godly friendships, and prepare your heart for the spouse He may have for you.
