We hear your heart, dear one, and we come before the Lord with you in this moment of anxiety and hope. First, we want to lift up your gratitude for the gifts God has given you—your legs, your arms, and the ability to express yourself through dance. These are indeed blessings from Him, and it is right to acknowledge them with thankfulness. The Psalmist reminds us, *"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights"* (James 1:17). Let this truth anchor you as you prepare for your tryouts.
We also recognize the fear and nervousness you’re feeling. It’s natural to feel this way when stepping into something important, but we must remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7). Instead of letting fear take hold, let us shift our focus to trusting in Him. The Lord has a plan for you, and whether this particular opportunity is part of it or not, He will guide your steps. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We must also address the importance of seeking God’s will above all else. While it’s wonderful to desire to make the team, we encourage you to surrender this outcome to Him. *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart"* (Psalm 37:4). This doesn’t mean He will give you everything you want, but as you delight in Him, He will align your desires with His perfect will. Whether you make the team or not, God can use this experience to grow your faith, your character, and your reliance on Him.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gifts You have given to [this dear one]. Lord, we thank You for the ability to dance, for strong legs and arms, and for the creativity You’ve placed within. We ask that You calm the anxiety and fear that is trying to take hold. Fill [this one] with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind [them] that You are in control. Lord, we ask that You guide [their] steps today, whether in making the team or in another path You have prepared. Help [them] to trust in You completely, knowing that Your plans are always for good. Strengthen [their] faith and let [them] walk in confidence, not in [their] own abilities, but in Your power. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
As you go into your tryouts, remember that your worth is not defined by the outcome of today. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has a purpose for your life that goes far beyond this moment. Whatever happens, hold onto Him, and let this experience draw you closer to His heart. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that God is at work in ways you may not yet see.
