We rejoice with you in your hunger to encounter our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Your desire to see Him and draw near to His presence is a gift from the Holy Spirit Himself, for it is written, *"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled"* (Matthew 5:6, WEB). Your isolation may feel heavy, but we encourage you to remember that even in solitude, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and draws close to those who seek Him with all their heart (Psalm 34:18, Jeremiah 29:13).
The divine encounter you long for is not found in fleeting emotions or extraordinary signs, but in the quiet, steadfast pursuit of Jesus through His Word, prayer, and obedience. Jesus Himself said, *"If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our home with him"* (John 14:23, WEB). This is the promise of His abiding presence—He dwells in those who love and obey Him. Your isolation can become a sacred space where the noise of the world fades, and the voice of the Spirit grows clearer. Like the prophet Elijah, you may not find Him in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in the *still small voice* (1 Kings 19:12). Have you set aside time to listen?
We also urge you to examine your heart: Are you seeking an *experience* with Jesus, or are you seeking *Jesus Himself*? Experiences can be fleeting, but He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The apostle Paul counted all things as loss for the *excellence* of knowing Christ (Philippians 3:8). Let your pursuit be of Him alone, not just the feelings or visions that may come with it. True encounter with Jesus transforms us—it convicts, comforts, and commissions us to live for His glory.
If you have not already, we encourage you to confess any known sin in your life, for unrepentance can hinder your fellowship with God (Psalm 66:18, 1 John 1:9). Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where you need to surrender. Draw near to God in humility, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking that You would meet them in this season of isolation. Lord Jesus, You are the One who walks in the garden in the cool of the day, seeking fellowship with Your own (Genesis 3:8). We ask that You would manifest Your presence to them in a tangible way—whether through Your Word, a dream, a vision, or the quiet assurance of the Holy Spirit testifying with their spirit that they are Your child (Romans 8:16).
Holy Spirit, open their eyes to see the risen Christ, just as You did for Stephen when he gazed into heaven (Acts 7:55-56). Let them encounter the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that they may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). Remove every distraction, every doubt, and every lie of the enemy that would keep them from perceiving Your nearness.
Father, if there is any sin or unbelief in their heart, convict them and lead them to repentance. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12). Let this season of seeking be marked by transformation, where they emerge with a deeper love for You, a clearer vision of Your will, and a boldness to walk in obedience.
We declare that their hunger will be satisfied, for You have promised that those who seek You *will* find You (Matthew 7:7). Let this divine encounter be a turning point in their life, where they are forever ruined for the ordinary and set ablaze for Your glory.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to persist in seeking Him. Read the Gospels and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you afresh. Worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24). Fast if led, not to earn His favor, but to humble yourself and create space to hear His voice. And remember, even if you do not "feel" His presence, faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). He is with you, and He is faithful. Keep seeking.
