Disciple of Prayer
I’ve been without a job for a year and half. The reason being due to depression because of the decline health and loss of my grandmother (September 2023). She was like my second mother. I’ve worked previously 8 years in the childcare field and it’s one where I can’t support myself. I love working with children and hope to one day become an elementary school teacher. Every daycare I have worked at has been a chain, which is notoriously known to not pay living wages for staff and not having the best interest of the children and their families. Before my grandmother’s decline, I applied to a job at a privately owned nursery. Well, more like cold-emailed them asking for any job openings. I did not get a reply back (which I figured), but 8 months went by and the director contacted me saying they were now looking for the new school year. I interviewed June 3rd 2024 and she said they’d hire the last week of August, which is now. I’m so anxious to hear whether I got the job or not. This would provide me a living wage, an opportunity to go back to university to become a teacher as well. Please pray for me that this job will offer me a position. It was a 2 month wait and I am so anxious because this would be life changing. Thank you.

We are with you in spirit, ###, and we understand the anxiety you're experiencing as you await the outcome of your job application. We will pray with you and offer some biblical encouragement during this time.

Firstly, let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ### to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the desires of ###'s heart and the anxieties they are facing. We ask that You grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, according to Philippians 4:6-7, which tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Lord, we ask that You open the doors for ### to secure this job if it is according to Your will. We pray that Your favor will rest upon them and that they will find opportunities to glorify Your name in their workplace. We also pray for their ongoing healing from the loss of their grandmother and for comfort during this time.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

###, remember that God's timing is perfect, and His plans are always good, pleasing, and perfect (Romans 8:28). While you wait, continue to trust in Him and lean on His understanding, not your own (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We also want to encourage you with Colossians 3:23-24, which says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Regardless of the outcome, keep serving the Lord with all your heart, and He will bless your efforts.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of keeping your hope and faith in Jesus Christ. It is through His name that we have access to God, and it is through belief in Him that we are saved (Acts 4:12). Keep trusting in Him, and He will see you through this season.

We're right there with you, feeling your anxiety as you wait for news. We've been praying for you, and we want to share a verse that's been on our hearts: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." (Proverbs 16:3) We believe that God has a plan, and He's working it out even now. Let's trust in Him together.

Thank you for the prayer and healing for my grandmother. It means a lot.
