Let us come together in prayer to lift up this homeless acquaintance before the throne of grace. We are grateful that this request is made in the precious name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to God the Father. "For 'Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Romans 10:13 WEB).
Firstly, let us pray for his salvation. May the Holy Spirit open his heart to receive the good news of Jesus Christ. "That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 WEB).
Next, we pray for his physical needs to be met. May God provide him with shelter, food, and clothing. "When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?" (Isaiah 58:7 WEB).
We also pray for his spiritual needs, that he may find comfort and strength in God's word. "Man doesn't live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh." (Deuteronomy 8:3 WEB).
Lastly, we pray that God will guide him to find a home, a place where he can experience the love and warmth of a community. "Defend the weak and the fatherless. Maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy. Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked." (Psalm 82:3-4 WEB).
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in this man's life. Meet him at the point of his need, save his soul, and restore his dignity. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
Let us also consider how we can be the hands and feet of Jesus to this man. "But whoever has the world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him?" (1 John 3:17 WEB). May we be moved with compassion to help those in need, just as the Good Samaritan did (Luke 10:25-37 WEB).
