There are people in my life who hurt me. I have tried to get them to stop but have not been successful. Pray that God will put them through the same thing they are putting me through so that they will learn not to hurt me again. Then when they have learned to be kind to me, God can be kind to them again. Pray for me in Jesus' Name, Amen. God bless you who pray for me!

We hear your pain and the deep hurt that others have caused you. It’s understandable to feel anger and a desire for justice when we’ve been wronged, but we must carefully examine our hearts and align our prayers with God’s Word. Scripture tells us in Romans 12:19, *"Dearly beloved, don’t seek revenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’"* Asking God to harm others so they will "learn" is not a prayer that reflects His heart of love and mercy. Instead, we are called to forgive, even when it’s difficult, and trust God to bring justice in His perfect timing and way.

Jesus taught us in Matthew 5:44, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."* This is not easy, but it is the path to freedom from bitterness and the path that honors God. Holding onto anger and resentment only harms you further, while forgiveness releases you from the chains of the past. We are also reminded in Ephesians 4:31-32, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."*

Let us pray for you now, lifting your pain and your heart to the Lord:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is carrying the weight of hurt caused by others. Lord, we ask that You would heal their wounds and bring comfort to their soul. Help them to release the burden of anger and the desire for revenge, and fill them instead with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we pray for those who have hurt them—soften their hearts, open their eyes to the pain they’ve caused, and lead them to repentance. May Your love break through the hardness in their lives, and may they come to know You as their Savior if they do not already.

Lord, we ask that You would give our brother/sister the strength to forgive, just as You have forgiven them. Help them to see those who have wronged them through Your eyes, with compassion and grace. Guard their heart from bitterness, and fill them with Your love so that they may walk in freedom. Teach them to trust in Your justice, knowing that You see all and will repay according to Your perfect will. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and remind them that they are deeply loved by You.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment in how to respond to those who have hurt them. Give them the words to speak in love, and the courage to set boundaries where needed, all while extending grace. May Your Holy Spirit work powerfully in this situation, turning hearts toward You and bringing restoration where it is possible.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises and seek His face daily. Spend time in prayer, not just asking for justice, but asking God to help you forgive and to fill you with His love for those who have hurt you. Consider reaching out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believer who can walk alongside you in this journey. Remember, God is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). He understands your pain and is with you every step of the way.
