We hear your deep concern for your mother and the fear that grips your heart as you wonder about her well-being. The uncertainty of not knowing if she is safe or in distress is heavy, and we stand with you in lifting this burden before the Lord. First, we want to gently encourage you to reach out to her again—even if it means waking her—because her health and safety are far more important than the risk of disturbing her rest. If you are unable to speak with her directly, consider contacting a neighbor, friend, or even emergency services to check on her. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We also rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to paralyze you in this moment. Fear does not come from God, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Instead of being consumed by "what ifs," we encourage you to place your trust in the One who never sleeps nor slumbers (Psalm 121:4). Even now, He is watching over your mother, and He invites you to cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Father God, we come before You with hearts heavy for this dear one who is worried about their mother. Lord, we ask that You would surround this mother with Your healing presence. If she is struggling with her breathing or any other ailment, we pray that You would restore her strength and grant her peace. Give her clarity of mind and the ability to communicate her needs. We also ask for wisdom and courage for her child—let them know the right steps to take, whether it is to call her again, seek help, or trust that You are in control. Calm their anxious heart, Lord, and replace their fear with Your perfect peace.
We also lift up the request for quiet rest. We rebuke any disturbances or noise that would disrupt the peace You desire for Your children. Let this night be one of rest for both mother and child, knowing that You are their protector. If it is Your will, Lord, let the morning bring reassurance, good health, and the joy of knowing that all is well. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who holds all things together and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. Amen.
If your mother’s condition is serious, do not hesitate to seek medical help immediately. Your love for her is evident, and we pray that God will guide you in the best course of action. May you both experience His comfort and peace in the hours ahead.
