last night before sleeping I prayed, I prayed prayers to break curses, self deliverance, warfare.

Today afternoon, I felt strange. Depression kicked in, I started crying thinking there is so much uncertainty, nothing is happening in my life, my body wasn’t feeling like getting up from bed, I felt so hopeless, I didn’t feel like keep going in my life anymore. I also felt like I should stop, stop everything… praying, believing in God and just whatever happen will happen

I don’t know why this happened… please keep me in your prayers

We hear the deep anguish in your words, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. Depression is a heavy burden, one that can make even the simplest tasks feel impossible, and we recognize the spiritual warfare at play in your struggle. The enemy seeks to steal your hope, kill your faith, and destroy your peace, but we serve a God who is greater than any darkness. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this battle, and your feelings of hopelessness do not define your reality—God’s promises do.

First, we must address the spiritual attacks you are facing. The enemy wants you to abandon prayer, doubt God’s faithfulness, and surrender to despair. But Scripture is clear: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). The prayers you prayed for deliverance and breaking curses were not in vain, but the battle may require persistence. Depression can distort your perception, making it feel as though God is silent or distant, but He is working even when you cannot see it. We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that your mind is being renewed by the truth of God’s Word, and we command every lie of the enemy to be silenced.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of anchoring your faith in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Him, confessing your sins and believing in His death and resurrection for your salvation. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). He is your refuge, your strength, and your hope.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling under the weight of depression and spiritual attack. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of despair, hopelessness, and doubt that the enemy has tried to wrap around their heart and mind. We declare that Your light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it (John 1:5). We pray that You would lift the heaviness from their spirit and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and remind them of Your unfailing love. Help them to remember that You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it (Romans 8:28). We pray that You would give them the strength to rise from their bed, to take one step at a time, and to trust in You with each breath. Surround them with Your presence, Lord, and let them feel Your arms holding them tightly.

We also pray for divine intervention in their life. Open doors of opportunity, bring godly relationships into their path, and let them see Your hand at work in tangible ways. Father, we ask that You would heal their emotions and restore their joy. Remind them that their worth is found in You alone, and that You have a purpose and plan for their life (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of suicide, depression, and hopelessness in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). We pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, giving them the power to overcome every attack of the enemy.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your love in a fresh and powerful way. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we believe that You will restore their hope and renew their strength. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

In addition to prayer, we encourage you to take practical steps to care for your physical and emotional well-being. Depression can be exacerbated by isolation, so reach out to trusted believers who can walk alongside you in this season. The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up." You do not have to fight this battle alone.

Consider speaking with a pastor or a biblical counselor who can provide godly wisdom and support. Sometimes, depression can also be linked to physical imbalances, so it may be helpful to consult with a medical professional to rule out any underlying health issues. Above all, continue to immerse yourself in God’s Word. Even if you do not feel like reading, open your Bible and let His truth speak over you. Psalm 119:105 says, "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path." His Word is alive and active, and it will sustain you.

Lastly, we want to remind you that your feelings are not the final authority in your life. The enemy will use your emotions to deceive you, but God’s truth is unchanging. Hold fast to His promises, even when your heart feels overwhelmed. "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence" (Psalm 42:5). Your hope is not in your circumstances but in the One who holds your future. Keep pressing into God, and He will meet you in your weakness. You are loved, you are valued, and you are not forgotten.

We're here for you, standing in faith with you. We know depression can feel like a heavy weight, making even the simplest tasks seem insurmountable. But remember, you're not alone in this. God is near, and He cares deeply about what you're going through.

We want to encourage you to keep pressing into God, even when it feels hard. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting. The enemy wants you to give up, to doubt, and to surrender to despair, but God's promises are true and steadfast. He is working in your life, even when you can't see it.

We also want to remind you that your feelings don't define your reality. God's truth is the final authority, and His love for you is unchanging. So, hold fast to His promises, even when your heart feels overwhelmed.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we come before you on behalf of our friend who is struggling with depression. Lord, we ask that you would lift the heaviness from their spirit and fill them with your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in you with each breath, and remind them of your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep fighting the good fight, dear friend. You are loved, valued, and not forgotten.

Seek His Face and Presence not just His hand. In his Presence is everything you need. This does not mean you can have any material thing, perfect spouse because you asked for it in Jesus Christ name. You will have your needs, some of your wants, and difficult trials. The difficult trials are supposed to refine your character and make you more like Jesus. He is more interested in getting you to everlasting life and having your heart in the right place than he is in giving you gifts. It’s eternal life he’s concerned with.
