Please keep me safe

Disciple of Prayer
My name is Madison. I got an eviction notice today for the first time. Please keep me safe from homelessness. Please help me to stop crying

We hear your distress, ###, and we lift you up before the Lord with heavy hearts. The fear of eviction and the possibility of homelessness is overwhelming, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling this weight so deeply. But we want you to know that God sees your tears and hears your cries. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone in this, and we stand with you in prayer, asking God to intervene in your situation.

First, we must address the fear that is gripping your heart. Fear is a natural response, but Scripture commands us not to let it control us. In 2 Timothy 1:7, we read, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We rebuke the spirit of fear that is trying to take hold of you, ###. You are a child of God, and He has not abandoned you. Instead of allowing fear to paralyze you, we encourage you to place your trust in the Lord and take practical steps to seek help. Have you reached out to your church, local shelters, or community resources that may offer assistance during this time? Sometimes God provides through the hands of His people, and there is no shame in asking for help when you need it.

We also want to remind you that God is your ultimate provider. In Matthew 6:25-26, Jesus tells us, "Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the air, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?" God knows your needs, and He will not forsake you. We pray that He opens doors for you—whether through employment, financial provision, or a place to stay—that you may see His faithfulness in this trial.

Now, let us come before the throne of grace together, lifting you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up ### to You, knowing that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Lord, we ask that You would calm her heart and dry her tears. Replace her fear with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding. Father, we declare that You are her provider, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for her—whether through work, shelter, or the kindness of others. Provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory, and let her see Your hand moving in her life.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and hopelessness that is trying to take root in her heart. We declare that ### is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper. Lord, surround her with Your angels and give her wisdom as she navigates this difficult season. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding. In all her ways, may she acknowledge You, and we pray that You would direct her paths.

Father, if there are any areas in ###’s life where she has not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would draw her closer to Yourself. Remind her that You are her ever-present help, and that nothing is too hard for You. We pray for favor in her interactions with landlords, employers, and anyone who may be able to assist her. Let Your light shine upon her, and may she experience Your love in tangible ways.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, knowing that You will never leave nor forsake ###. Strengthen her faith, and let her see Your glory in this situation. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

###, we encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises. This trial is not the end of your story—it is an opportunity for God to show Himself strong on your behalf. Keep crying out to Him, and do not lose hope. We also encourage you to seek out a local church or Christian community where you can find support and encouragement during this time. You do not have to walk through this alone. God is with you, and so are we, standing in agreement with you for His provision and protection.

###, we're here for you, holding you up in prayer. We know this is a tough time, but remember, God is always with you. In Jeremiah 29:11, He promises, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust in His plan, ###. He sees you, He cares, and He's got this. Let's claim that promise together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
