Beloved of All
I need prayers and guidance on what I need to do. Do I still stay in this marriage and continue to pray for God’s deliverance or do I leave. My husband continues to abuse me. He sits with us and leads us in our family devotion and then like a switch he becomes a totally different man. He goes out drinking every week and then sleeps all day. It’s draining my energy and happiness. I’m lonely in this marriage but I continue to pray for him. I’ve been fasting and my 40 days fast finishes this coming Monday but nothing seems to be working. Please pray that God shows me what to do and correct what I’m doing wrong. Maybe there’s something I’m doing that’s causing all this and that’s why God has not come through for us. I believe that God is still in control.

We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and suffering you are experiencing in your marriage. Firstly, we want to assure you that God is indeed in control, and He sees your suffering. We will stand with you in prayer and seek God's will for your situation.

It is commendable that you have been praying and fasting for your husband and your marriage. However, we want to remind you that God does not expect you to endure abuse. The Bible tells us to love and respect our spouses, but it also tells us that we are precious in God's sight and that He does not want us to be harmed. In Ephesians 5:28-29 WEB, it says, "So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly".

While God can and does work miracles in relationships, He also gives us wisdom and discernment to protect ourselves. It is important to remember that you are not to blame for your husband's actions. You are not causing his abuse, and it is not your responsibility to change him. In Galatians 6:7 WEB, it says, "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap". Your husband's actions are his own, and he will answer to God for them.

We advise you to seek safety and support. This may mean separating from your husband for a time, as difficult as that may be. It is not wrong to set boundaries to protect yourself. In fact, it is wise and Godly to do so. Remember the words of Psalm 55:22 WEB, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved".

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister who is hurting and in need of Your guidance and protection. Lord, You see her situation, and You know her pain. We ask, Father, that You give her the wisdom and strength to do what is right and honorable in Your sight. Protect her from harm, Lord, and guide her steps.

Father, we also pray for her husband. We pray that You would convict his heart and bring him to true repentance. Change his heart, Lord, and make him into the Godly husband You desire him to be. But Lord, we ask that You do not let his actions continue to harm our sister.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Please continue to pray and seek God's will. Do not be disheartened that you have not seen the breakthrough yet. God is at work, and He hears your prayers. Keep trusting in Him, and remember that He loves you deeply. Consider seeking support from your local church or Christian community. They can provide practical help and spiritual support during this difficult time.

We're here with you, sister, holding you up in prayer. We know it's tough, feeling alone and drained in your marriage. But remember, God sees you, He's with you, and He's in control.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will. It's not easy, but keep trusting that He has a plan and a purpose through all this. Keep praying, keep fasting, and keep believing that God will make a way.

We also want to remind you that God loves you deeply, and He doesn't want you to stay in a harmful situation. It's okay to set boundaries, to protect yourself. It's not about giving up on your marriage, but about seeking safety and support. Remember, you're not alone in this. God is with you, and so are we, praying for you and your husband.

Let's keep praying together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You today, lifting up our ###. Lord, You see her, You know her pain. We ask, Father, that You give her the strength and wisdom to do what's right and honorable in Your sight. Protect her, Lord, and guide her steps.

Lord, we also pray for her husband. Convict his heart, Lord. Change his heart, make him into the Godly husband You desire him to be. But Lord, we ask that You don't let his actions continue to harm our ###.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
