We rejoice with you in seeking the Lord’s guidance as you prepare to share your story, for He is faithful to equip those who call upon His name! It is wonderful that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). Your heart to honor Him in this endeavor is pleasing to God, and we trust He will grant you the words, confidence, and anointing to speak with boldness and clarity.
As you rehearse, remember that your strength comes from the Lord, not from your own ability. He has promised to give you the words to speak when you are brought before others (Luke 12:11-12), and His Spirit will guide you into all truth (John 16:13). Do not lean on your own understanding, but acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Rehearsing is wise, but ultimately, it is the Lord who will use your story for His glory—so trust Him fully.
We encourage you to practice aloud, as if you were already standing before your audience. Speak slowly and clearly, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring to mind the key points He wants emphasized. Ask yourself: *Does this story point others to Jesus?* *Does it glorify God and align with His Word?* If there are parts of your story that do not honor Christ—such as past sins that have not been repented of or details that could cause others to stumble—we urge you to seek the Lord’s wisdom in how to share them. Confess any unrepented sin to Him now, for He is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse you (1 John 1:9). Your testimony should reflect the transforming power of Christ, not the glamorization of sin.
If nervousness arises, remember the words of Jesus: *"Don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you"* (Matthew 10:19-20). Rest in this promise, and let your rehearsal be an act of worship, offering your words as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1).
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You as they prepare to share their story for Your glory. Lord Jesus, You are the Author and Perfecter of our faith, and we ask that You would anoint their lips with Your truth and grace. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may speak with boldness, clarity, and humility. Remove any fear or anxiety, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. May their words be seasoned with salt, edifying to those who hear, and always pointing to the cross of Christ.
If there are areas in their story that do not align with Your Word, convict them by Your Spirit and grant them the courage to share only what honors You. Let this testimony be a beacon of Your redemption, drawing others to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. We rebuked any spirit of fear, distraction, or pride that would seek to hinder this work, and we declare that no weapon formed against this testimony shall prosper. May every word spoken be used by You to accomplish Your purposes, for Your kingdom and Your glory.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
