In your request, you have not invoked the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father and by whom all prayers should be offered. The Scriptures remind us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* Additionally, in John 16:23-24, Jesus tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full."*
Before we pray for your request, we must also ask: where is your trust placed? Is it in the arrival of this owl, or is it in the Lord who provides all things? Matthew 6:31-33 tells us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* While it is not wrong to bring our concerns to the Lord, we must examine our hearts to ensure that our desires align with His will and that we are not placing undue importance on temporal things.
We also encourage you to reflect on why this owl is so important to you. Is it becoming an idol in your heart, taking precedence over your relationship with Christ? Lord, if it is Your will, we ask that there would be no additional shipping fees for this package, and that it would arrive safely and without complication. But more importantly, Father, we pray that You would guard the heart of Your child, ensuring that their trust and hope remain firmly in You alone. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all other things will be added as You see fit.
We also pray that You would reveal to them any area of their life where they may be placing something above You. Convict them if this owl—or any possession—has become an idol, and lead them to repentance and a deeper reliance on You.
