Piano lessons and spiritual warfare

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Please pray for me to have wisdom about whether or not I should continue taking piano lessons in the new year. Please also pray for me about spiritual warfare I have been experiencing since I was a child. This warfare specifically influences people to do terrible things to me in order to try to push me toward deep unforgiveness. While it has improved this year as God has been delivering me from it and the unforgiveness which it has caused and which has kept it in my life, some problems still linger. I'm currently very upset about certain experiences I've recently had as it relates to this warfare where certain people around me have been influenced to mistreat me under its influence. I'm also struggling with trusting my father (who is demonized and confused religiously - he was raised under the false religion of Catholicism and likely other wrong things such as voodoo) after an incident where he was very hurtful toward myself and my mother on Christmas Eve. I feel like I want to keep my distance from him now. My entire life, he has displayed difficult behavior including anger outbursts, behavioral problems, outbursts and anger management problems. Thank you.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting these burdens before our Heavenly Father. First, let us address the matter of piano lessons. The wisdom you seek about whether to continue them in the new year is a valid concern, for all things should be done unto the Lord and for His glory. Scripture tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We encourage you to seek the Lord’s guidance in this, asking Him to reveal whether this pursuit aligns with His purpose for your life. If it brings you joy, edifies your spirit, or serves as a ministry to others, it may well be something to continue. However, if it becomes a distraction from your walk with God or a source of unnecessary stress, the Lord may be leading you in another direction. Trust in His leading, for He knows the plans He has for you—plans for peace and not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Now, let us turn to the spiritual warfare you have endured since childhood. We recognize the deep pain and frustration you carry, and we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible makes it clear that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that the power of the Holy Spirit is greater than any scheme of the devil, and we stand in agreement with you for complete deliverance and freedom.

The enemy’s tactic to push you toward unforgiveness is a common strategy, for he knows that unforgiveness is a prison that keeps us bound. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12), and He made it clear that if we do not forgive others, our Father will not forgive us (Matthew 6:15). This is not to condemn you, but to remind you of the freedom that comes from releasing those who have wronged you. We pray that the Lord would soften your heart toward those who have mistreated you, including your father, and that He would heal the wounds caused by their actions. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, nor does it mean you must trust them immediately. It means you release the bitterness and anger to God, trusting Him to be your defender and healer.

Your father’s behavior, influenced by demonic forces and false religious teachings, is heartbreaking. We rebuke every spirit of confusion, anger, and religious deception that has taken hold of him, and we pray for his deliverance and salvation. The Word of God tells us that "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ should not dawn on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4). We pray that the scales would fall from his eyes and that he would come to know the true Jesus, the Son of God, who alone can save and set free. However, we also understand your need to set boundaries for your own protection and peace. Proverbs 4:23 warns us to guard our hearts, for everything we do flows from it. It is wise to create distance if his behavior continues to harm you or your mother, but we encourage you to do so with a heart of love and a desire for his redemption.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your wisdom to guide them in the decision about piano lessons. May they hear Your voice clearly and follow Your leading with confidence. Lord, we also stand against the spiritual warfare that has plagued them since childhood. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask for complete deliverance and healing from the pain and unforgiveness that has taken root in their heart. Father, soften their heart toward those who have wronged them, including their father, and help them to release these burdens to You. We pray for their father, Lord, that You would break the chains of deception and demonic influence in his life. Open his eyes to the truth of the gospel and draw him to repentance and salvation. Give our brother/sister the strength to set healthy boundaries while still extending grace and love. Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and freedom. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the work You are doing in their life. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, and surrounding yourself with godly fellowship. The enemy may have had a foothold in your life for many years, but the power of Jesus is greater. Stand firm in your faith, putting on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes (Ephesians 6:11). Remember, you are not alone in this battle—God is with you, and we stand with you in prayer. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We're here for you, dear friend. We've been reflecting on your situation and want to share a few more thoughts from our hearts.

Firstly, about the piano lessons, we believe it's important to consider how they align with your spiritual growth and overall well-being. As you seek wisdom, remember that God often speaks to us through His Word, quiet moments, and the counsel of trusted friends. We encourage you to spend time in prayer, asking God to reveal His will for you in this matter. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Regarding the spiritual warfare you've been facing, we want to assure you that you're not alone. Ephesians 6:12 tells us, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." The good news is that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We claim this promise over your life, dear friend, and declare that the power of the Holy Spirit is breaking every chain and stronghold that the enemy has tried to establish in your life.

We want to encourage you to keep forgiving, even when it's hard. Unforgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. It's a heavy burden to carry, and it's not worth it. We're not saying it's easy, but we know that God is faithful to help you. As you forgive, trust that God will fight your battles for you. He sees your pain, and He's working everything out for your good (Romans 8:28).

Lastly, about your father, we pray for his deliverance and salvation. We also understand your need to protect yourself, and we support you in setting boundaries. Remember, you can love him from a distance, and you don't have to trust him immediately. God is the ultimate judge, and He's working in your father's life too.

We'll continue to pray for you, dear friend. We believe that God is at work in your life, and we're confident that He will guide you, heal you, and set you free. Keep trusting in Him, and remember that you're never alone. We're here for you, praying and believing with you.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to lift your heartfelt concerns before the Lord. It has been our sincere privilege to stand in agreement with you in prayer, asking for wisdom regarding your piano lessons and for God’s continued deliverance and protection in the spiritual warfare you’ve endured for so long. We have prayed that the Holy Spirit would guard your heart against unforgiveness, that He would strengthen your faith, and that every scheme of the enemy would be shattered in Jesus’ mighty name.

We also lifted your struggle with trust and the painful relationship with your father, asking the Lord to heal your wounds and give you clarity on how to move forward in a way that honors Him. We prayed for your father as well—that the chains of confusion and darkness would be broken, and that he would come to know the true freedom and salvation found only in Christ.

If the Lord has answered any part of these prayers, we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a source of strength and hope for others walking similar paths. If, however, the battles still rage or the answers haven’t yet come, please don’t hesitate to post this as a new request. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, standing firm in faith alongside you until God’s perfect will is revealed.

May the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind. May His presence be your comfort, His Word your guide, and His love your anchor as you press forward in Him. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
