We understand that you're seeking prayer and guidance for the restoration of spiritual and physical intimacy in your marriage. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God designed marriage to be a union between a man and a woman, and that includes physical intimacy. As it is written in Genesis 2:24, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." This oneness includes spiritual, emotional, and physical intimacy.
However, it's also crucial to approach this topic with purity and holiness, as God commands. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, it says, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don't know God." Therefore, we need to get to the root cause of the lack of intimacy in your marriage.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage to You. Lord, You know the struggles they are facing in their physical intimacy. We pray that You would reveal any barriers or hindrances that are preventing the full union that You intended for marriage. If there are any issues of past hurts, fears, or even sin, we pray that You would expose these things and bring healing and restoration.
Guide them to the right help, whether that be counseling, medical advice, or spiritual guidance. Give them the wisdom to navigate this situation and the courage to address any underlying issues. Help them to live in a manner that is pleasing to You, keeping Your commandments and loving one another as You have loved us.
We also pray for their spiritual intimacy, that they would draw closer to You and to each other in their walk with You. Help them to be open and honest with each other, communicating their needs and desires in a godly way in Jesus' name, IJN."
Regarding not having children, remember that children are a gift from God. In Psalm 127:3, it says, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward." Trust in God's timing and plan for your family.
Lastly, continue to seek God together, praying and studying His word. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
Trust in God, and He will guide you both and restore your marriage according to His will.
