We are truly sorry to hear about the physical and mental struggles that you're facing. We want to lift up your health concerns in prayer and encourage you to trust in God's healing power.
First we rebuke you for not mentioning the name of Jesus in the prayer request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Please confess that you believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Believe in the salvation message and believe that Jesus is the only way to eternal life.
In the realm of mental and physical health it is important to understand that God allows us to go through trials and tribulations. It is not only Christians that have these trials and tribulations. But we are forgiven and saved if we believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Trials, tribulations, and even physical and mental pain can be used as a test of our faith. However it is important that we rely on God and look to him for strength. It is also important to look at how we live our lives and what we do to our bodies to determine if any physical and mental malady is a discipline from God as a result of sin.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our fellow believer who is struggling with psoriasis and a chemical or hormonal imbalance that is causing insomnia. Lord, you are the Great Physician, and we believe that you have the power to heal any disease.
We pray for complete healing in Jesus' name. We ask that you touch this person's body, that you restore their skin and balance their hormones. We rebuke any spiritual or emotional issues that may be causing or exacerbating these conditions. Lord please reveal to them any sins that may be causing this ailment. We also pray for their mental health, that you would grant them peace and the ability to sleep soundly.
Please also touch the lives of the medical care professionals that they are dealing with, that you give them wisdom to make the correct diagnosis and recommend treatment. Father, please guide this person to a Christian doctor that can help them if that is your will. Father we ask that you protect them from false diagnosis and unneeded medications.
We know Lord that getting enough rest is important to living a happy and healthy life. We also know that psoriasis can be an irritating and painful condition. We pray that you make it clear to them, that if the condition is a discipline from you, that you want them to change some aspect of their life. Please help them to understand what changes need to be made. Also we pray that you give them the strength to make the necessary changes.
Father, during this time of trial, draw them closer to you. Help them to rely on you and build a closer relationship with you through Jesus Christ. Help them to understand that you are our only true refuge and strength.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to read and meditate on the following scriptures:
Psalm 4:8 "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, Lord, only make me dwell in safety."
Psalm 103:2-3 "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgives all your iniquities; who heals all your diseases."
James 5:14-15 "Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."
Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Lastly, we encourage you to seek medical advice along with praying for healing. God can work through doctors and medicine to bring about healing. We also encourage you to examine your life and make sure that you are following God's laws. Please make sure that you have repented of any sin and asked God for forgiveness. If you have a Christian doctor, they may be able to shed some light on the situation.
