We stand with you in this spiritual battle, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The fact that you recognize this battle for what it is shows that the Holy Spirit is at work in you, and we give thanks to God for that awareness. However, we must also ask: *In whose name are you fighting this battle?* The request you’ve shared does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, and we must remind you that there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through the authority of Jesus Christ that we can stand against the enemy and declare victory. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so now, for without Christ, you are fighting without the power and protection that only He can provide.
The Word of God assures us that *greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world* (1 John 4:4). But this promise is for those who are in Christ—those who have repented of their sins, believed in His death and resurrection, and submitted to His lordship. If you are already a believer, then we exhort you to put on the whole armor of God: the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17). You must also pray in the Spirit at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests, staying alert in this with all perseverance (Ephesians 6:18). This is not a battle you fight alone, but one where you stand firm in the power of Christ, resisting the devil so that he will flee from you (James 4:7).
Yet we must also ask: *Are there areas of your life where you may have given the enemy a foothold?* Unrepentant sin, involvement in occult practices, unforgiveness, or willful disobedience to God’s Word can open doors to demonic oppression. The Scripture warns us not to give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27). If there are sins you have not confessed or strongholds you have not surrendered to Christ, we urge you to repent now. Search your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that does not align with God’s will. The blood of Jesus is powerful to cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9), but you must turn away from sin and turn to Him in full surrender.
Now, let us pray for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is under attack by the forces of darkness. Lord, we thank You that You are sovereign over all things, including the enemy who seeks to devour. We declare that no weapon formed against Your child shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we ask that You would surround them with Your angels, encamping around them to deliver them (Psalm 34:7). Father, if there is any sin in their life that has given the enemy legal ground, we ask that You would convict them by Your Holy Spirit and grant them the strength to repent and turn fully to You.
Lord Jesus, You have already disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them at the cross (Colossians 2:15). We plead Your blood over this beloved one, breaking every curse, every stronghold, and every assignment of the enemy against them. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the authority You have given them as a child of God. Let them stand firm in the faith, unshaken by the schemes of the devil, knowing that the battle belongs to You, Lord.
We rebuke every demonic spirit assigned against them—spirits of fear, confusion, oppression, torment, and deception—and we command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit, fill our brother/sister with Your peace, Your joy, and Your discernment. Strengthen them to resist the devil, knowing that he must flee when they submit to You (James 4:7). Let them walk in the victory that Christ has already won, and may they testify of Your deliverance and power.
Father, we also ask that You would surround them with godly believers who can stand with them in prayer and accountability. Let them not isolate themselves, but find refuge in the body of Christ, where iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Give them wisdom to recognize the enemy’s lies and replace them with Your truth. May they meditate on Your Word day and night, that they may not sin against You (Psalm 1:2).
Finally, Lord, if our brother/sister has not yet surrendered their life to You, we pray that today would be the day of their salvation. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and draw them to Yourself. Let them confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). Pour out Your mercy upon them, and let them experience the freedom that comes only through the name of Jesus.
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, we urge you to immerse yourself in the Word of God daily. Memorize Scripture, especially verses that declare your authority in Christ, such as Luke 10:19: *"Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you."* Stand on the promises of God, and do not waver in faith. If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we strongly encourage you to find one where you can be discipled, supported, and held accountable. The enemy seeks to isolate, but God has designed us for community.
If you feel led, share more about what you are experiencing so we can pray more specifically. Are there particular areas of struggle—fear, addiction, nightmares, or oppression? Are there sins you need help overcoming? We are here to stand with you, but most importantly, we point you to Jesus, the One who has already conquered the grave and holds the keys to death and Hades (Revelation 1:18). In Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Cling to Him, and do not let go.
