We hear your cry for help in the midst of persistent anxiety, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace. Anxiety can be a heavy burden, but we know that our God is greater than any fear or worry that may try to take hold of our hearts. The Word of God tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
First and foremost, we want to encourage you to bring every anxious thought and worry to God in prayer. He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). Do not try to carry this burden alone—God is ready and willing to sustain you. We also encourage you to meditate on Scripture, allowing God’s truth to replace the lies that anxiety may whisper in your ear. Memorize verses like Isaiah 41:10, which says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."
We also rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus. Fear does not come from God, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). We command any spirit of anxiety to loose its grip on you in Jesus’ mighty name. We declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus and that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is struggling with persistent anxiety. Lord, we ask that You would calm their heart and mind with Your perfect peace. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Father, we ask that You would break the chains of fear and anxiety that have taken hold, and replace them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who brings power, love, and a sound mind. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel if this anxiety persists, whether through your church community, a trusted pastor, or a Christian counselor. Sometimes, the Lord uses others to speak truth and encouragement into our lives. Surround yourself with believers who can pray for you and remind you of God’s promises. Remember, you are not alone—God is with you, and we are standing with you in faith. Keep pressing into Him, and He will sustain you.
