Peaceful, Calm Night

Your prayer for your son and for your household has been received with deep care, and I join you in lifting it to our merciful God through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved and by which we have access to the Father.

I thank God for your faithful love as a parent and for your desire to see your son surrounded by peace. Scripture reminds us that sleep is a gift from God, a haven and medicine for our weariness, while He Himself neither slumbers nor sleeps but keeps watch over His people. Even when night brings anxiety or restlessness, the Lord is present to guard and to comfort, and He invites us to cast all our cares upon Him.

I pray with you now that the Lord will grant your son a calm and restful night and a peaceful day tomorrow, that He will quiet fear, anxiety and confusion, and guard his mind, body and spirit. May the Lord rebuke every spiritual attack and every influence not from Him, and cause it to depart in the name of Jesus. May He clothe your son with the full armor of God, surround him with His protection so that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and let His holy angels encamp around him. By the stripes of Jesus we ask for healing and restoration, and we ask that the Lord would ease every source of physical distress, help him to eat and sleep in peace, to wake refreshed, and to find joy and calm in his routines, meals, activities and interactions.

I also join you in praying for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, your family and all who care for him, that God would provide godly and faithful caregivers who respect him, include him, delight in him and help bring out the best in his life, and that every service provided would truly help him and not cause harm or regression. I pray for unity and love to be strengthened among your son, his siblings, family, friends and caregivers, and that any division or negative influence would be removed.

For your entire household I pray that God would fill your home with His calm, joy and safety, and that His light would dispel every shadow of darkness. I bring before Him your younger daughter and even her dog, asking for quiet and restful sleep and for peace while she studies, and that your son would remain calm and settled during that time. I ask the Lord to guide and protect you all in your travels, daily activities and nightly rest.

We trust not in our own words but in the mercy of God and the power of Christ. As you have quoted, where two or three are gathered in His name He is in our midst, and He hears according to His perfect will. May the Lord continue to show you His faithfulness and grant you strength as you watch and remain sober in prayer, trusting Him who watches over you without ceasing.

In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen.

Your heartfelt prayer for your son has been received and I join you in bringing him and your whole household before the Lord Jesus.

I am moved by your love for your son and by your desire for his peace. Scripture shows us that God sees affliction and hears the cry of a parent's heart. He is not distant from your son's struggles with anxiety, sensory distress and the other challenges you described. He knows him fully and loves him deeply.

We come to God only through His Son. Jesus is not a created being. He is the only begotten Son of God, and the Father said of Him, this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. He is the Son of David according to His humanity and declared to be the Son of God with power by His resurrection. He that has the Son has life. That is our confidence as we pray. We are not coming on our own merit but in the name of Jesus, who alone can bring us to the Father.

The Scriptures give us confidence to trust Him for healing of body, mind and spirit. When Jesus was in Galilee a father came to Him about his sick child many miles away. Jesus spoke a word and at that distance the child was healed. The Lord is not limited by distance or by circumstance. He also healed a man born blind, and when that man was cast out and rejected by others, Jesus sought him out and revealed Himself to him and asked him about believing in the Son of God. The Lord sees those who are misunderstood or treated as a burden and He draws near to them.

We also remember how God provided His own Son as the sacrifice for us, foreshadowed when Abraham was asked to offer his only son whom he loved. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God is not a man that He should lie. What He has spoken He will make good. His Word cannot be broken and He honors it above all.

In that confidence I pray with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, I lift up this son to You. Wrap him in Your peace that passes understanding. Quiet fear, torment, anxiety and confusion. Let every influence that is not from You be removed from him and have no return. Surround him with Your hedge of protection. Let no weapon formed against him prosper. Clothe him in the full armor You have provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Command Your ministering angels to encamp around him and guard him in all his ways.

Lord, touch his mind, body and spirit. By the wounds of Jesus we believe healing is provided. Bring calm to his body, ease to his senses, rest to his mind and peace to his sleep. Let him eat in peace, sleep without disturbance and wake refreshed and joyful. Bring steadiness to his routines, his meals, his activities and his interactions. Help him to communicate with gentleness and confidence and to find satisfaction in what You give him to do.

Father, give wisdom, patience and discernment to his mother, his family and all who care for him. Provide faithful, godly people who will respect him, include him, delight in him and bring out the best in him. Grant services and help that truly build him up and do not cause harm. Restore and strengthen bonds within the family and with caregivers and friends. Remove division, isolation and every negative influence. Let Your light shine through his life so others see Your grace.

I also lift up his sister and her needs for rest and quiet as she studies, and I ask You to keep the home filled with Your calm, joy and safety in the night hours and through each day. Guide and protect this family in all their daily activities and travels.

Thank You that where two or three agree in the name of Jesus, You are present. We agree together now according to Your perfect will, trusting Your love that receives us not after we have cleaned ourselves up, but even as we are, with compassion and joy as a father embraces a returning child. We thank You for victories already seen and for the work You are continuing to do. Amen.
