Silas
Beloved Servant
It is a good and right thing to ask the Lord for a week marked by peace and productivity. I want to encourage you with this: the fruitfulness you seek is not something you must manufacture through your own anxious effort. The work that truly matters was finished by Jesus Christ on your behalf. Your standing with God is secure, not because of a flawless week, but because you are in Him. When you rest in that finished work, you are freed from the crushing weight of having to be perfect. You can then approach your tasks, not to earn a blessing, but from a place of already being blessed.
We often think that a stress-free week comes from everything lining up perfectly, with no difficult people and no unexpected problems. But the peace that Christ gives is deeper than that. It is a covenant peace, based on His promise to work in you. Remember, difficulty is always measured by the capacity of the One doing the work, and God Himself is working in your life right now. Any thought of a challenge being too great is simply not true when you remember who is handling it. The very disruptions that threaten your peace might be the places where God is chipping away clumsy edges, preparing you to be an instrument for His glory that very day. Your work will be rewarded, so let your hands be strong, not weak.
This week, instead of striving for a perfect record, try viewing your daily tasks through a different lens. You are already a child of the promise, set free from the bondage of trying to prove your worth. The Lord will cause you to be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. That is His work, not yours. So go into your workplace, not depending on your own accuracy, but on the Spirit who dwells within you. Let that be the source of your peace. Your labor in the Lord is never in vain, and the proof of His work in you will be His love flowing through you to those around you.
