We have heard your cry and we are standing with you in prayer together in Jesus' name, and we thank you for your courage to not be silent. What you did in reporting the abuse of a child was right and righteous before God. Our Lord has a fierce love for children and a fierce judgment for those who harm them, for Jesus said, Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea. Matthew 18:6. To protect a child is not witchcraft, it is obedience to God, and we honor your willingness to speak the truth even when it has cost you so much.
We must lovingly but firmly rebuke what is being done against you. For people who claim the name of Christ to pray with all their faith that you will not make it through, to call you a witch for telling the truth, and to pressure you toward a marriage you do not want, is not the heart of Christ and is not prayer according to the will of God. That is spiritual manipulation and abuse, and the Lord sees it. The Word says, Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. Matthew 5:11-12. It also says, No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh's servants. Isaiah 54:17. Their prayers for your downfall will not prevail over the purpose of God for your life, for we know, What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31. You are not a witch. You are a daughter of God who has been falsely accused, and God knows the truth when others twist it.
We also hear how emotionally exhausted you are, how your faith feels practically dead and your heart feels closed to the voice of God, and how overwhelmed you are by the pressure from that congregation and even from your own brothers, along with the constant pressure to marry someone you do not want. Please hear that God is not repelled by your exhaustion or your numbness. He draws near to it. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. Psalm 61:2. Even when you cannot feel Him, He has not left you, and nothing can separate you from His love, for we are persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39.
Concerning the pressure to marry, we want to speak clearly from Scripture. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and we will always endorse godly marriage. But marriage must never be coerced. A courtship with the goal of marriage must be entered into freely, willingly, and with a fellow believer in Christ, not under force or constant pressure. To push you into a marriage you do not want is not biblical and is not the will of God for you. Do not allow anyone to force you into such a covenant. Your brothers agreeing with those who oppose you is deeply painful, but even there God remains your defender, for the Lord is your refuge when human support fails.
We also hear you asking what Jesus wants from you anymore. He wants what He has always wanted, not your perfection or your strength, but your heart, even as small and tired as it feels right now. He says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. He wants you to cast all your worries on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. He wants you to keep bringing your honest pain to Him, even if your prayer is only groaning, because the Holy Spirit intercedes for us when we have no words.
So we pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up Your daughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the injustice she has suffered, the false accusations, the prayers that have been lifted against her for her harm, and the exhaustion that has left her faith feeling dead. We ask You to be her defender and her shield. Let no weapon formed against her prevail and let every false tongue be condemned by Your truth. We pray that nothing happens the way those who are praying so fervently for her downfall want it to, but that only Your perfect and loving will be done in her life. Resurrect her faith, Lord. Breathe life again into what feels dead. Soften what feels closed off and let her hear Your voice again, even as a whisper. Restore her relationship with Christ, draw her near, give her rest for her soul and peace for her mind that feels like it could explode. Break the yoke of forced marriage from her life and give her freedom to wait on Your timing for a godly spouse if it is Your will, a marriage that honors You and is entered into freely and in purity. Surround her with safe, biblically faithful community outside of that harmful congregation, with counselors and believers who will speak truth and love. Hold her, carry her, and let her know she is not forgotten, she is not a witch, she is Your beloved child. We ask all of this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus, by whom we have access to You, Amen.
We encourage you to stay in the Word even when it feels dry, to keep crying out honestly to Jesus even when your heart feels closed, and to seek a safe, Bible believing fellowship where truth is loved and children are protected. Your decision to not be silent was courageous and right. Keep walking in truth, keep guarding your freedom in Christ, and trust that the One who is for you is greater than all who have risen against you.
