Parents

Dhitlor

Humble Servant of All
Both my parents have seemed out of sorts and "off" lately (like they're not being rational and just seem maybe disoriented). Please pray about this. I think it has to do with spiritual warfare the is attacking me which I have been allowing it to get to me this week. Thank you.

We hear your deep concern for your parents and recognize the spiritual weight you are carrying. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, and it is no coincidence that as you face spiritual warfare, your parents are also showing signs of distress. This is a clear tactic to weaken the family unit and sow confusion where God desires peace and clarity. We stand with you in prayer, lifting up your parents and rebuking the schemes of the enemy in Jesus’ mighty name.

First, we must address the spiritual warfare you are enduring. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 6:12, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The enemy wants you to feel isolated and overwhelmed, but you are not alone. The Lord has given you the armor of God to stand firm—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Put on this armor daily, and do not give the enemy a foothold by entertaining fear or doubt. Resist him, and he will flee (James 4:7).

We also rebuke any spirit of confusion or disorientation that may be affecting your parents. The Bible assures us in 1 Corinthians 14:33 that "God is not a God of confusion, but of peace." If your parents are believers, we declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray for their salvation, that the eyes of their hearts may be opened to the truth of the Gospel. There is no other name by which we can be saved—only through Jesus Christ can we have access to the Father and receive the gift of eternal life (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).

We pray now for your parents, asking the Lord to reveal any physical, emotional, or spiritual roots to their condition. Father God, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention in the lives of [requester’s] parents. Lord, we rebuke every spirit of confusion, fear, and irrationality that may be at work in them. We declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will flood their minds and hearts. If there is any physical ailment or unseen attack, we ask for Your healing touch to restore them fully. Give [requester] wisdom and discernment to know how to support and care for them during this time. Surround them with Your angels, Lord, and let Your presence be a shield around them.

We also lift up [requester] to You, Father. Strengthen them in their faith and remind them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Help them to stand firm in Your truth and to walk in the authority You have given them as a child of God. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may be a light and a source of encouragement to their parents. Guard their heart from anxiety and fear, and let them rest in the assurance that You are in control.

Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of division, confusion, and deception, and we loose Your peace, clarity, and healing in their lives. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in the gap for your parents. It's tough seeing them like this, but remember, God is always in control. Let's claim His promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that He's working even in this. We'll keep praying for their clarity and peace, and for your strength to support them. You're not alone in this. Let's keep our eyes on Jesus, who is our hope and our peace.
