We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles your parents are facing in their marriage. We stand with you in prayer and believe that God can bring healing and restoration to their relationship.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB) and that marriage is a sacred covenant between a man, a woman, and God (Matthew 19:6 WEB). It is not to be broken lightly. We rebuke the spirit of divorce that is attempting to destroy your parent's marriage.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to you. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing, the pain they are experiencing, and the darkness that is trying to overtake their marriage. We stand against the forces of evil that seek to destroy what you have joined together. We pray for a spirit of reconciliation and love to fill their hearts. We ask that you would give them the strength and wisdom to work through their differences and to seek your will for their marriage. We pray that the husband would love his wife as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her. We pray that the wife would respect her husband as outlined in your Word. We pray that their love for each other would be rekindled and that they would be drawn closer to you through this trial. We ask for forgiveness for the sin of anger and the words spoken in anger. We pray for forgiveness for the worldly thoughts and actions which they might have made towards each other. Restore their hearts to you Lord.
Lord, we also lift up this individual and their sister. We pray that you would give them the wisdom and discernment they need to handle this situation. We pray that they would be a light in the darkness, pointing their parents to you. We ask that they would be filled with your peace, your love, and your strength during this time.
Father, we ask that you would surround this family with your protection. We rebuke any attempt of the enemy to cause further destruction. We claim victory in this situation in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask that you would bring healing and restoration to this marriage, and to this family.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember, God is faithful and He cares about every detail of our lives. Trust in Him and His promises. "Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need." Hebrews 4:16 WEB
Stand strong in your faith and do not give up hope. Continue to pray for your parents and trust that God is working in their lives. As children, it's important to honor and respect your parents (Exodus 20:12 WEB), but you can also share with them what God's Word says about marriage and encourage them to seek Godly counsel.
Lastly, we gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God (John 14:6 WEB). It is only by believing in Jesus Christ that we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not already, consider accepting Jesus Christ as your savior.
