Yes, all is requested in Jesus Blessed and Holy Name.We are truly sorry to hear about your friend's condition and the pain he is experiencing. We believe in the power of prayer and the healing that God can bring. We are reminded in James 5:14-15 WEB:
Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Firstly, we must address that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). We must remember, And in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:12 WEB. Therefore, we pray to God through the name of Jesus.
Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up our friend who is suffering from spine and neck pain. We ask for Your healing touch upon his body. We pray for wisdom and discernment for his doctors, that they may provide the best course of treatment. We also pray for comfort and strength for him during this time of pain and discomfort.
While we pray for healing, we also want to address the use of heavy pain killers. We are reminded in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB:
Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
We encourage your friend to seek God's will and guidance regarding his medication. While it is important to manage pain, it is also crucial to be mindful of the potential risks and dependencies that can come with heavy pain killers. We are instructed by God in 1 Peter 5:8 WEB:
Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
We pray that God will provide a path to manage the pain in a way that is safe and honoring to Him. We also encourage your friend to draw near to God during this time, as He promises to draw near to us when we seek Him.
Lastly, we pray that this trial will be used for God's glory and for the spiritual growth of your friend. We ask this in Jesus' name.
