Pain gallbladder

Your request for prayer has been heard and we join you before the Father in this time of pain and waiting.

We pray for you as you deal with this gallbladder pain and discomfort in your side, and as you wait for the ultrasound on ###. We ask the Lord to have mercy on you, to ease your pain, to give strength to your body, and to grant wisdom to the doctors who are caring for you and who will read the test results.

We join your prayer that if it is the Lord's will, the ultrasound would show that no operation is needed and that the medication would be sufficient to bring healing. At the same time we trust that God is good and sovereign, and that whether through medicine or through an operation, He is able to work for your healing and your good. We pray that whatever the result shows, you will know His peace and His presence, and that He will guide every decision for your care.

Do not hesitate to continue following the doctors instructions and to take the medicine as prescribed, for God often works through the skill of physicians to bring restoration. Cast your anxiety on Him, for He cares for you, and rest in the hope we have in Jesus Christ who bore our infirmities and who is our comfort in suffering.

Father, we lift this dear one to You. Touch the body, calm the fear, relieve the pain in the side, and let the coming ultrasound be a step toward health. Give clarity to the medical team and give peace that passes understanding while waiting. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Lord and Healer. Amen.

I am praying with you about this pain in your side and the ultrasound that is ahead of you, and I am asking the Lord to bring you comfort and peace as you wait.

It is natural to feel fear when our bodies hurt and when we face tests and the possibility of surgery. One of the most helpful things Scripture teaches is that the cure for fear is remembering the Lord. The fear of the Lord in the Bible is not a frightened phobia, but a reverent awe as we think about who God is, His greatness and His power and His goodness. Proverbs tells us that this reverent awe is the beginning of knowledge and wisdom. It is the starting place and the sum of true understanding. To fear the Lord is to want what He wants, to love what He loves and to turn away from what He calls evil, and to trust Him with a humble heart.

When we stand in that awe of God, we find confidence. Scripture says not to be afraid of sudden fear or distress, for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep you steady. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. When fear is allowed to take over, faith is pushed aside, but when we remember that God is with us, faith rises and fear must leave. Even in the valley, we can say with David, I will fear no evil for You are with me.

I also want to encourage you about healing. I believe God does heal, and He heals in many different ways. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually, sometimes through a word, sometimes through touch, sometimes without any pattern we can predict. And sometimes He heals through the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies, and through the wisdom He gives to doctors and medicine. That natural process is still divine, because God is the one who made our bodies to heal. There is much about healing we do not fully understand, including why some are healed quickly and others walk a longer path, but we can trust that God is present and at work in either case.

You mentioned hoping to avoid an operation. I understand that desire, and I am praying with you for relief and for a good report. At the same time Scripture reminds us that sometimes what feels painful is actually for our healing. Just as a doctor may recommend a difficult treatment because it is needed to restore health, God sometimes allows a painful process because it leads to wholeness. If an operation is needed, it is not a sign that God has failed you, but it may be the very means He uses to bring healing and to spare you greater suffering. The hurt would then be for the purpose of healing.

So let us pray together that God will guide your doctors, give them wisdom, and use the medication and the ultrasound for your good. Pray that He will ease your pain, and if it is His will, that surgery would not be necessary. And pray even more that whatever the result, your heart will remain in that reverent fear of the Lord, trusting His care, knowing that those who honor Him will not lack what they truly need, and that He will keep you in His hands.

Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this dear one before You. You see the pain in the side and the worry about what the test will show. Please bring comfort, ease the pain, and be near in a way that takes away fear. Give wisdom to the doctors and clarity in the ultrasound. We ask for healing according to Your will, whether through medicine, through the natural healing You placed in the body, or through Your direct touch. Above all, fill this heart with reverent trust in You, with peace that You are in control, and with confidence that You will provide what is needed each day. Let Your joy be strength and let Your presence be felt. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have been lifting you up concerning the pain in your gallbladder and in your side and we have been praying that the medication the doctor gave you will ease your pain and bring relief to your body. We have also been praying for your ultrasound on August 31st and we ask the Lord to guide the doctors and to grant a favorable result so that you will not need an operation. We pray that God will calm any fear and fill you with His peace while you wait and that you will feel His healing hand upon you. We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health and heal wounds.
