Beloved of All
I have two scenarios concerning rent arrears 1) I'm unemployed with rent arrears they are five figures and no active apartment lease. 2) I was offered a renewal lease but held off on signing it because of being unemployed and there’s no guarantee of getting income anytime to address the arrears or future rent. I just don’t like the idea of not being able to pay anything. I’m really trying my best to secure a stable income but nothing is working. I’ve reached out to churches, orgs, community resources and no one place could help me unless eviction proceedings are started. At this point I will just go through the eviction process because I have no other choice. If eviction is what will get me the help that I need so be it. I’ve tried and given my best efforts to AVOID eviction but it can’t be avoided. For the past few days the weather has been in the teens I had to run errands at the time. If I lose my apartment I’ll be IN those elements. Lord Jesus Christ please have mercy on the homeless, hungry, disabled, shut in, jobless, lonely, despondent. I’ll be another one who fell through the cracks. I don’t want to work because I’m too exhausted from past workplace abuse. I understand that Jesus didn’t promise an easy life but this is beyond what I personally can handle. I liken my situation to begging for scraps. My faith is gone. My hope and zeal are gone and I now understand that my purpose in life is to continue in pain, hopelessness and lack. There’s no future or hope for me. My muscle mass and health have been severely deteriorated.

We hear the depth of your despair, and our hearts ache with you in this overwhelming season. The weight of financial strain, the fear of homelessness, and the exhaustion from past wounds have left you feeling utterly broken. You are not alone in this battle, though it may feel that way. The Lord sees your struggle, and He has not abandoned you—even when your faith feels like it has vanished. In Psalm 34:18-19, it says, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Your pain is not your purpose, and this season of lack is not your eternal story.

First, we must address the lie that your purpose is to endure endless suffering. Jesus came so that you might have life abundantly (John 10:10), and while this world brings trials, He promises to be your strength when you are weak (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). The exhaustion you feel from past workplace abuse is real, and it is valid to acknowledge that trauma. But we rebuke the spirit of despair that whispers you are beyond help or that God has forgotten you. He collects every tear (Psalm 56:8) and hears the cries of the afflicted (Psalm 10:17). You are not a "scrap" to Him—you are His beloved child, and He is fighting for you even now.

We also must confront the statement that you "don’t want to work" because of exhaustion. While we understand the toll abuse has taken, Scripture calls us to stewardship and diligence (Proverbs 6:6-11, 2 Thessalonians 3:10). However, this does not mean you must force yourself into harmful environments. We pray for wisdom to discern safe, sustainable work—perhaps remote, part-time, or in a healing environment—while also trusting God to provide in ways you haven’t yet seen. The Israelites gathered manna daily (Exodus 16), and God promises to meet your needs one day at a time (Matthew 6:34).

Regarding your housing crisis, we declare that eviction is not your only option. The systems you’ve reached out to may have failed you, but God’s provision does not depend on human institutions. We pray for divine intervention—a landlord’s mercy, a sudden job opportunity, a church or ministry that *will* step in, or even a temporary safe shelter if needed. We rebuke the spirit of bureaucracy that withholds help until the last moment and command doors to open in Jesus’ name. Proverbs 3:25-26 says, *"Don’t be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken."*

You mentioned the cold and the fear of being exposed to the elements. We pray for supernatural protection over your body, mind, and spirit. Psalm 91:1-2 assures, *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’"* Even if you face homelessness, we declare that you will not be forsaken. God can use strangers, angels, or unexpected kindness to shield you from harm.

Most critically, we must address the crisis of faith you’ve expressed. Losing hope is not a sin—it is a signal that you need the Lord’s touch more than ever. Jesus did not promise an easy life, but He did promise to be with you *in* the fire (Isaiah 43:2). Your feelings of abandonment are real, but they are not the truth. We pray for a fresh revelation of God’s love—a tangible encounter that reignites your hope. Jeremiah 29:11 says, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Your future is not defined by this moment of lack.

Let us pray together:

*Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their broken heart and weary body. Lord, You see the rent arrears, the fear of homelessness, and the exhaustion from past abuse. You know the cold they dread and the systems that have failed them. We ask for Your mercy to intervene in ways only You can. Open doors no man can shut, soften hearts to show compassion, and provide resources beyond human logic. Father, where their faith has faltered, restore it. Where hope has dimmed, rekindle it. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Protector, and their Peace. Heal their body from the toll of stress and trauma, and give them strength to take the next right step. If eviction comes, we ask for shelter, warmth, and safety. But we declare that You are able to prevent it. Break the chains of despair, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work. We rebuke every lie that says their purpose is pain, and we proclaim that You have plans for their welfare, not for calamity. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.*

We encourage you to reach out to one more resource: **211.org** (or dial 211) for local assistance, or **Catholic Charities** (even if you’re not Catholic—they often help regardless of faith). Some ministries require an eviction notice to act, but others may assist sooner. Keep knocking—your breakthrough is coming.

Lastly, if you are not in a safe place emotionally, please call the **National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988** or reach out to a trusted believer. You are not a burden, and your life matters deeply to God. This storm will pass. Hold on.

We're here with you, dear friend, in this chilling cold and heavy heart. The weight of uncertainty and the fear of the unknown can be overwhelming, but remember, you're not alone. We're praying with you, and we believe that God is moving on your behalf.

Firstly, let's claim Psalm 147:3 over your situation: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We declare healing over your heart, mind, and body. We pray for warmth, not just in the physical sense, but also for the comfort of God's presence to envelop you like a loving embrace.

We also claim Psalm 91:1-2 over you: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" We declare that even if you face homelessness, you will not be forsaken. God will provide a way out, even in the most unexpected ways.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to reach out to local churches or community centers. Sometimes, help comes from the most unexpected places. And remember, it's okay to ask for help. It's a sign of strength, not weakness.

Let's keep trusting in God's plan and purpose for your life. He sees you, He loves you, and He's working everything out for your good. Keep holding on, dear friend. You're not alone.
