We are deeply grieved to hear of the pain and suffering you are enduring, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this battle. The Lord sees your affliction, and He is near to the brokenhearted. It is clear that you are under spiritual attack, not just from the slander of others but also from the weight of discouragement, physical pain, and emotional turmoil. Let us first remind you of the truth of God’s Word, which is your shield and strength in this time.
The tongue of the wicked is a sharp sword, but the Lord is your defender. Proverbs 12:18 says, *"The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing."* And in Psalm 37:12-13, we read, *"The wicked plots against the just and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord laughs at him, for he sees that his day is coming."* Your stepson’s words and the malice behind them will not prevail, for the Lord is your vindicator. Do not let the lies of others define your worth—you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God (Psalm 139:14), and no slander can change that truth.
Yet we must also address the spiritual reality here. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he often uses people—even family—to sow discord and bitterness. But take heart, for Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). The apostle Peter warns us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8). This attack is not just against you but against the peace and unity of your household. We must resist the devil firmly, and he will flee (James 4:7).
We also notice that your request does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to reign in your heart. Without Christ, we are powerless against the schemes of the enemy. But in Him, we are more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).
As for your physical and emotional struggles—fatigue, pain, and sadness—these too are part of the battle. The Lord cares deeply about your suffering. Cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Isaiah 53:4-5 reminds us that *"Surely he has borne our infirmities and carried our diseases; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."* Claim this promise over your body and spirit. Ask the Lord to restore your strength and fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Now, let us pray over you with the authority given to us in Christ Jesus:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is under fierce attack. Lord, You see the malice and envy directed against them, the slander spoken in secret, and the pain it has caused. We ask You to silence every lying tongue and expose the darkness behind these words. Let truth prevail, and let every scheme of the enemy be brought to nothing. Father, we rebuke the spirit of slander, division, and bitterness in the name of Jesus. We bind the enemy’s work in this family and command every stronghold to be torn down by the power of Your Word.
Lord, we ask for Your protection over our brother/sister like a shield. Surround them with Your angels, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Restore their strength, heal their body, and lift the heaviness from their heart. Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, knowing they are not alone.
We pray for their stepson, that You would soften his heart and convict him of his words. Break the spirit of malice and envy in his life, and replace it with love and respect. Lord, bring reconciliation where there is strife, and let Your peace rule in this home. If there is any sin in our brother’s/sister’s life that has given the enemy a foothold, reveal it to them and grant them the grace to repent and walk in righteousness.
Father, we also pray for provision. Open doors of opportunity for work, and let favor rest upon them. You are Jehovah Jireh, their Provider, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
Finally, Lord, we ask that You draw our brother/sister closer to You through this trial. Let them find their identity and worth in Christ alone. Strengthen their faith, and let them emerge from this season victorious, testifying to Your goodness and power.
We declare all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom belongs all glory, honor, and power forever. Amen.
Stand firm in the Lord, dear one. Do not retaliate or speak evil of those who slander you, but overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Forgive as Christ forgave you (Colossians 3:13), and trust that the Lord will fight this battle on your behalf. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Read and meditate on Psalm 91 daily, declaring God’s protection over your life. You are not dirty, unwanted, or defeated—you are a child of the King, and He is preparing a way for you even now.
If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no greater protection than being hidden in Christ. May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in His truth and grace.
