We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up your requests in prayer. First, we thank God for the opportunity He has given you to pursue your studies at the university. We know that every good and perfect gift comes from Him (James 1:17), and we trust that He will guide your steps and grant you wisdom as you seek knowledge.

Father, we ask that You open the doors of understanding and retention for this dear one. Grant them focus, discipline, and perseverance in their studies. May they not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, they will reap if they do not give up (Galatians 6:9). We pray that You would remove every distraction and fill their mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lord, let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105) as they navigate their academic journey.

We also lift up the life of your son, , before You. Heavenly Father, we ask that You watch over him, protect him from all harm, and guide him in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). May he grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). Surround him with godly influences, and let Your Holy Spirit convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). If he does not yet know You as his Lord and Savior, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself, for no one can come to the Father except through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

For your mother, , we pray that You would grant her good health, strength, and peace. Lord, we ask that You comfort her in every trial and fill her heart with joy, for the joy of the Lord is her strength (Nehemiah 8:10). May she walk in the assurance of Your love and provision all the days of her life.

And for your own life, dear one, we pray that You would draw nearer to God, for He promises that if you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). May you find your identity, purpose, and strength in Christ alone. Let the words of Psalm 139:14 resonate in your heart: "I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well." We pray that You would walk in the fullness of God’s calling for your life, trusting in His plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We must also take this moment to address the foundation of our faith. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (Ephesians 2:18). There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in aligning your life with God’s will.

Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and anxiety that may be trying to take root in the lives of this family. We declare that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand against every plan of the enemy to steal, kill, or destroy, for Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing these needs with us. It’s good to bring the things that matter most, your studies, your family, your own life, into the light where others can stand with you.

When someone lists several people and concerns at once, it often means they are carrying a lot at the same time. We want you to know we hear that weight, and we are not in a hurry to move past it. Your request may be simple in words, but the love behind it for your son and your mother is evident, and God sees it clearly.

University life has its own pressures, and asking for prayer over your studies shows wisdom. Many of us have been in that place where the mind is full of lectures, deadlines, and the steady question of whether we will make it through. You are not alone in that. At the same time, you are holding close the lives of people you love. That speaks well of your heart.

A small, concrete step you might consider is to let someone in your local church or a trusted friend know you would appreciate their ongoing prayers as the semester continues, not just one prayer, but someone who will ask you in a few weeks how things are going. We were made to carry life together, both the big needs and the daily ones.

Father, thank you for this person who has come to you with such honest, simple trust. We ask you to steady their mind for their studies, to give them clarity when things feel confusing and perseverance when energy runs low. Watch over , their son, guard his life and his heart, and draw him close to yourself. Surround their mother, , with your protection and peace. And for them, Lord, we ask for your direction in every part of life, for health, for hope, and for daily reassurance that you are near. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

The cry of a soul that seeks the prayers of God’s people is a token of grace already at work, for naturally we do not like being guided, yet you have asked for intercession concerning your college career and the lives of your son, your mother, and yourself. This is well, for the path of study and the welfare of a household are not to be ventured upon by mere human wisdom. The Psalmist learned early to take a Guide, and his testimony stands: “You shall guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to Glory.” Let that be your confidence in the lecture hall and in the quiet of your home. There are great principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide: avoid everything that is evil, submit cheerfully to His will, and you shall be furnished with unerring guidance.

But I would press upon you the weight of family piety. It is not enough to pray alone; the whole household must be brought under the wing of the Covenant. The ark of salvation housed Noah and all his family when the flood came, and so must you seek that your son and your mother be gathered with you into the place of safety. Family prayer is the nutriment of family godliness and the castle of Protestantism; if it has been neglected, let it be revived with double zeal. The head of a house must take a stand, saying, “We have not given up family prayer, but we must now make it special and draw near unto God.” Pray for your child, that he may be led by the Spirit, for “as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Pray for your mother, that advancing years may find her securely in Christ, like the godly dame of Noah’s household. And for yourself, let your chief care be that you belong to that one family in heaven and earth, united in Jesus, where errors and failures cannot divide, because we are bound by the life of the Good Shepherd.

He who travels on the King’s Highway is under the King’s protection. Angelic guardians are promised in all our appointed ways, but those ways must be the roads of childlike trust and Providential leading. His wisdom is your guidance, His love your perpetual shield, His infinity your storehouse. The same Shepherd who laid down His life for the sheep watches over the little lambs and the aged ewes alike. Cast every anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you actively, before you even know your need, He supplies it. Your studies, your son’s life, your mother’s health, your own soul’s well-being, all are beneath His omniscient eye.

I shall gladly bear this request before the throne, trusting that you and yours will be found in the number of those who are guided by the Spirit and who afterward shall be received into Glory. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and the lesser things shall be ordered aright. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and give you peace.
