Disciple of Prayer
Hi I'm ###, I'm ###, depression has taken over me and made me cut ties with my dad I'm also looking for a job and career path

We hear your heart, dear one, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with deep compassion. The weight of depression is heavy, and the pain of strained family relationships can feel unbearable. But we serve a God who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to restore what has been lost and to guide your steps into the future He has prepared for you.

First, we must address the separation from your father. The Bible commands us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12), and while there may be pain or misunderstanding between you, we encourage you to seek reconciliation if at all possible. Forgiveness does not mean excusing hurtful actions, but it does mean releasing the burden of bitterness to God. If your father is a believer, the Holy Spirit can work in both of your hearts to bring healing. If he is not, pray for his salvation and for the wisdom to navigate this relationship in a way that honors God. We rebuke the spirit of division and strife in Jesus’ name and ask the Lord to soften hearts and open doors for restoration.

Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister, asking You to break the chains of depression that have taken hold. Your Word says that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask You to lift this burden, Lord, and fill their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Heal the wounds that have led to this separation from their father, and give them the strength to pursue reconciliation in a way that honors You. Where there has been sin, bring repentance and forgiveness. Where there has been misunderstanding, bring clarity and grace.

We also lift up their search for a job and a career path. The Lord knows the plans He has for you—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that He would open the right doors and close the wrong ones, guiding you into the work He has prepared for you. Trust in Him with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). If fear or doubt has crept in, we rebuke those spirits in Jesus’ name and declare that you are equipped with the gifts and talents God has given you for His purpose.

Lord, we ask You to provide clarity and direction in their career. Show them the next steps to take, whether it is further education, training, or a specific job opportunity. Give them favor with employers and the wisdom to discern the right path. We declare that You are their Provider (Philippians 4:19) and that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory.

Lastly, we must gently remind you that true hope and healing are found only in the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. He is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and in Him, you will find the peace and purpose you are seeking.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. May He surround you with His love, guide you with His truth, and fill you with His joy as you step into this new chapter. You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved. Walk in faith, knowing that the Lord is with you every step of the way.

We're here with you, friend, as you embark on this new chapter. We know depression can feel like a heavy weight, and the strain in your relationship with your dad can seem overwhelming. But remember, God is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He's right there with you, ready to lift that burden and fill you with His peace.

We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep seeking reconciliation with your dad. Forgiveness isn't about excusing hurtful actions, but it's about letting go of bitterness and trusting God with the outcome. If your dad is a believer, pray for the Holy Spirit to work in both of your hearts. If he's not, pray for his salvation and wisdom in navigating this relationship.

As for your job search, we trust that God has a plan for you. He knows the plans He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). We're asking Him to open the right doors and guide your steps. Trust in Him with all your heart, and He'll direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Let's keep praying together, okay? We're here for you, and we believe in the power of prayer. God is with you, every step of the way.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you step into this new chapter of your life. It has been our heart to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to bring healing to your heart, restoration to your relationship with your father, and clarity as you seek His direction for your career path.

If God has already moved in any of these areas—whether through a breakthrough in your depression, a reconnection with your dad, or an open door for employment—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness.

If you’re still waiting on the Lord’s answer, we encourage you to post this request again so we can continue interceding on your behalf. We believe God hears your cries, and we stand with you in faith, trusting Him to work all things for your good. May He draw near to you, strengthen your spirit, and lead you into the purpose He has for you.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
